"Time Is On My Side"

As time runs out for Dean (Jensen Ackles), Sam (Jared Padalecki) convinces him to head to Eerie, Pennsylvania to investigate a possible zombie case.

Instead, they discover Doc Benton (guest star Billy Drago), a real-life doctor who, in 1816, abandoned his medical practice to follow his obsession with finding the key to eternal life by drugging people and stealing their vital organs.

Meanwhile, Bobby (Jim Beaver) finds out where Bela (Lauren Cohan) is hiding, and Dean heads out to confront her, leaving Sam behind to deal with the good doctor. Dean and Bela battle it out for the last time, and Dean leaves Bela in a desperate, and possibly fatal, position.

I'm very disappointed in the route they're taking with Bela. ...my only hope is that next season has the same justice given out to Ruby, and if I'm at all lucky it will happen very early in the season.

What is with the boys being seperate all the time?

I didn't like Bela at first. Then she slowly grew on me and by the end of the hiatus, I really liked the character. What they did to her would've awesome had that been the plan all along. Her arc would've intense, interesting and just plain cool since Dean was going through the same thing. Starting with the next episode after Black Rock, this is the story she should've been in, even if the outcome had been the same.

The episode rocked, though. At least she went out on a high note. I enjoyed all of her scenes and she broke my heart in the last motel scene.

Sam the action hero! This was a great episode for Sam! He's growing up, he's become unhinged with facing Dean's fate. When he said that he'd drink the immortality thing too, I just laughed, but with sadness. They're so lost and so alone. Poor brothers.

I loved that among the darkness and death, they had a little funny scene with Sam grossing Dean out. I loved Sam's chuckle, "lose your appetite yet?"

Great episode all around. The atmosphere was insanely well structured, everything felt gloomy.

Nikki I fully agree! I've always liked Bela, but I liked her more as the show went on. I think you're right about her storyline, why not show us that she had no choice, they didn't have to show us who she was talking too but maybe show us a little scene in DALDOM before she steels the colt, how desperate she had to have been. I'm very disappointed that she's gone. But I did love the way she was written out, and Lauren's performance was AMAZING!

OMG JARED! *squishes him* I love how much vulnerablity he brings to Sam, Sam was so broken and desprate in this episode, just trying so hard to save Dean, even if it meant making him immortal and having to hack up bodies in the future. and I can totally see Sammy doing that, Dean needs a new lung? There goes Sam with a hatchet to get it for him. Gawd I love the love these two have for each other so much!

your wish has come true, finally the thorn in my side is gone, although I must admit I actually did not mind Bela in this epi, she showed a side of her that was missing all this time. Ya and the boys were separated again in this epi

Sam still does not seem to care about killing or anyone dying around him, his main concern is Dean which is great, although I love Sammy in protective mode, I am starting to miss the sweetness he usually puts out. The epi was great, how creepy doc got Johns journal and he knew all about Sam, the eye gouging thing was super creepy, cant wait til the finale.

Very late but I think, you guys are still going to read it. Since, this will be the first time I felt pity on Bela. I hated her so darn much. Because of her annoying antics and stuff. If they only showed that she's on the same deal, I would've understand her better. Well, she's done enough chaos so yeah, I did understand her point for being like that, though, she could be desperate and not be anoying, If you get my drift.

Anyway, Sammy! Call it desperation, but Sam will do and believe anything that says, "Save Dean!" I love how they hold on to each other. 3 weeks?! I would be freaking out as well. Very freaked out. I actually think Sam can always go back and dig the doctor up. Right? Who knows? Desperate times call for desperate measures.
