When Betty Met YETI Thursday 20th November, 2008 Competition gets fierce when Betty and Marc both apply to YETI, the Young Editors Training Program that could be their ticket out of assistant-land...but there's only room for one of them. Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha LOVED the old Betty with the dentures that have braces on them! Nice touch - and probably a good characterisation of everyone's worst nightmare: 50 years from now and nothing has changed...
I wonder where the 'little people' are going to be sacrificed in this episode? Review: Ugly Betty, Episode 8, Season 3 Sahar’s Blog I don't think either Mark or Betty will win. Or maybe they will both win. If Wilhelmina is on the jury then both are in trouble! |

I LOVED the episode. I was flipping out to see Nick again. I had no idea, so it was even better. My favorite part of the episode was definitely the end, though, with Marc and Betty talking to each other on the phone. Love, love, love.
I'll post more about the episode later, but I just had to post that for now. __________________

The entire episode was great. Last week I wrote that Daniel seems to be screwing with Betty's career a lot lately and then more than makes up for it, and this episode was no disappointment, trust me that's a good thing. I would have being very pissed off if Betty didn't get into YETI. I know she did but the first time she did get in and then dropped out; I was like what the hell?. I know she did the right thing by dropping out the first time because Marc did deserve to win but sometimes I think the character of Betty is too good to be true. I guess I'm too much of a conflicted person or a bit more realistic when it comes to the real world. I love that Betty's family was with her through the whole process and the conversation between Hilda and Justin impress me very much. I don't think it gets recognized a lot but Hilda is a great mother, any child would be very lucky to have a mother as understanding and as cool as Hilda. Daniel once again proved how great he is with kids and has once again talked about his desire to start a family. I’m glad things didn’t work out for Wilhelmina unfortunately that most likely means that her attention will return to owning the entire Meade Empire. Love the Detty moment at the end, can’t get enough of them.

I'm going to have to agree with all of you, this ep was Great I loved the way Marc and Betty made up friendship wise and I especially loved the Detty stuff
I think sub consciously Daniel was holding her back because he doesnt want to lose her but when she gave him the Silent treatment and got all mad at him He realized how important it all is to her __________________

here's the link to the episode, btw it is in 6 parts:
YouTube - Ugly Betty Season 3 Episode 9 - Part 1_6 [HQ] YouTube - Ugly Betty Season 3 Episode 9 - Part 2_6 [HQ] YouTube - Ugly Betty Season 3 Episode 9 - Part 3_6 [HQ] YouTube - Ugly Betty Season 3 Episode 9 - Part 4_6 [HQ] YouTube - Ugly Betty Season 3 Episode 9 - Part 5_6 [HQ] YouTube - Ugly Betty Season 3 Episode 9 - Part 6_6 [HQ] favourite moments- the betty and daniel dream sequence i have to say though that both marc and betty's ideas for the magazines were great and that i for one couldn't choose between them. i'd probably have a hard job deciding which one was the best the hilda and justin bonding moment the scene with daniel and the kids was rather cute but the one towards the end with marc and betty talking on the phone was just adorable. i am so happy for both of them. __________________

I agree too! The episode was really great. I absolutely loved the end, when there was the Mark-Betty moment. I started another thread on another forum about a possible Mark-Betty alliance - what if the two started collaborating together? After all, they are in the same position - working as assistants for people who don't appreciate them at all!!! So, yeah... I would totally think a M-B alliance could work out. It would also change all the dynamics with Amanda! I got the idea from here: Review: Ugly Betty, Season 3, Episode 9 Sahar’s Blog and I think it would be something totally worth exploring by the UB authors.
However, there are some loose threads the authors need to tie up, inluding who is Amanda's father, what happened to Alexis, is the seamstress (omg I always forget her name!!!) going to get anywhere, when is that baby going to pop, if Cliff coming back and where did Jesse run off to? |

That was good!
I think Betty has grown in this episode and i'm glad she's a "YETI" now. I now that Daniel has been acting this way towards Betty is because he doesn't want to loose her as a friend and his employee. Which I think is just so sweet and it's not ard to hate Daniel cause he's so lovable. Speaking of Lovable, the scene with the kids and Daniel was precious. I can see he trully does want a family now. Whili & Conner: For the first time I feel like Whili is trully in love with Conner and I felt bad for her after getting turned down. Justin: He is so cute, I loved the scene with Hilda. And yes she is a good mom that is obvious. BTW, I want to see "In The Hieghts" next year. __________________

Wait...so Betty felt guilty or offended that she was being offered a spot due to her ethnicity and not solely on her presentation, and drops out.....And that problem goes away simply because Mark gets to be into the program too? Give me a break. It was great to see the affirmative action issue being discussed....... but it was forgotten in the end.
Other than that, good episode. I love Marc/Betty scenes. And while I think they should have made betty not get in and have to apply the next year, I am really looking forward to more Marc/Betty scenes __________________
