Wilhelmina, now preparing for her first issue as editor, puts Betty in a difficult situation when she offers her a job as her assistant. Meanwhile, Christina becomes suspicious of Stuart's true intentions, Daniel faces a custody battle to keep Daniel Jr. in the United States, and Hilda's romance with Coach Diaz reaches a new level of hotness.

Ugly Betty Episode 3.02 Sneak Peek Video
ABC has released a sneak peek video for tomorrow night’s episode of Ugly Betty (episode 3.02, “Filing For the Enemy”).

This is Betty’s version of George Bailey sitting in Mr Potter’s chair in It’s A Wonderful Life. Wilhelmina wines, dines and flatters Betty before giving her the proposition we all knew was coming (just from the title, even).

I especially loved “like driving through Ohio”. Willy says these things without changing inflection or batting an eye. Just beautiful.

It is interesting that the reason Wilhelmina wants Betty to come work for her is that she can’t decipher any of the work Betty had done for Daniel. At least that’s what Wilhelmina tells Betty. Willy says she would never ask Betty to do something wrong or immoral - that’s what she has Marc for.

I think this one is going to be a wonderfully over-the-top classic Ugly Betty episode. Be sure to join us for the live blog tomorrow night (10/2) at 8/7c.

Is it too early to start discussing what we know about the episode? In the "scenes from the next" we got a good glimpse of Daniel defending his choice to stay at the dead-end Player over Betty's objections and hope for a future career.

Of course I don't mind! Where do you find the sneak peeks anyway? Do you surf Youtube or do you get it from a website? (Because Ugly-is-in was down when I checked it for a summary and possible promo pics. Had to Google.)

I'm subscribed to the B&B YouTube channel, which is excellent for uploading promos and sneak peeks of episodes (as well as general UB videos and interviews of America and Eric). If you're a member of YT, it's probably worth saving, for future reference!

ETA - There was another promo for the episode released, which I added to the OP!

When will Daniel go back to Mode, though?

Another thing to look for - Betty was on vacation for a month, but the episode break was a Summer long. Watch for signs of how much time has passed since the premier, or the timeline could get pretty confusing by Christmas.

yes, betty doesn't deserve to be working at a second rate magazine like player. she's a mode girl and mode is never the same without betty's presence, even though it has marc, willie and christina to name in it

speaking of you tube, i am a subscriber of nanyscia's channel on you tube. she posted the first ep of season 3 last week, and will hopefully post the rest. she also has all of the episodes from the first two seasons of ugly betty.

Actually, I disagree. there's been a lot of criticism about the presumably temporary move to Player and about how the focus on her contrast is lost, but I just don't see it. In a way, the demotion to Player is actually a lateral one. At Mode she was contrasted and in conflict with wealth and style, female views of beauty, and the relevant self-punishment in the name of conformity and fashion. At Player she is in conflict with the male perception of beauty, nubile, natural, and nearly naked (or suicidally dumb with a chance of explosions.). If anything, she would find it even more challenging to shine and draw attention to her work amid the hoots and hollers awarded to her prettier, more pliant, and apparently not-too-bright colleagues.

Player could be a really interesting sidetrack if she doesn't end up back at Mode right away, if for no other reason than that it shows that Mode is not unique in the way that it rejects nonconformist elements. Everyone has prejudices about appearance, but after a few years of beating the horse, it seems like it's particular to Mode/Meade because they're so particularly evil.

don't want to beat around the bush, but i see it in a totally different light. this show is a dramedy and let's face it, no matter how condecending and evil, marc, amanda and wilhelmina are at mode, you take those characters away and this show would be boring to watch.

people don't watch the show just to decipher meanings such as mode being a terrible place to work because of the so-called nasty characters, they watch it to be entertained. ok they may take away things such as how inner beauty is more important than outer beauty, but people tune in to see betty, daniel and co and not the people at player, of whom we do not know much about ourselves.

if this show or make it silvio horta decided to take betty out of mode for good and have her work at player and not focus on the people at mode, how many people would actually tune in? not many.

besides, how many times have we seen betty put up with the abuse and catty remarks from the likes of marc, willie and amanda? many- and yet, there have been occassions, where because of betty their vulnerability and positive aspects of their personality shone through. and thus, they have shown to be not as hideous and nasty as others such as yourself have perceived them as
