Okay, enough lurking for me. I just wanted to start saying that I just love what you guys post here; the things that you write make me feel so much more hopeful than when I read the D/B thread at TWoP (or that stupid board on IMDB.com -_-).

So, hi! um... I've been reading this thread for a while now, and I was hoping I could be added to the list.
The truth is, I've watched every version of Betty (well, except the one from Israel... it's impossible to get anything from that one... heck, getting a picture was really hard! xD ). I watched the original Colombian one when I was 12 years old, and right now I'm uploading the russian version (Ne rodis krasivoy) on youtube.
I am a huge fan of the relationship between the boss and the assistant of every version, and I have to say... Betty/Daniel are number one on my list. The looks and smiles on the pilot where more than enough to make me ship them intensely. I've also done my best to follow the "don't believe it until you see it" rule regarding fan speculation about Salma saying they wouldn't be romantically involved... I mean, come on... wasting all that chemistry would be an incredibly stupid thing to do xD

Anyhow, while I try to figure out how to get an avatar or something (I feel so empty, omg xD), if you're curious enough to ignore the language barrier, here's the link to my youtube profile... it's got like 4 pages full of videos from the russian version:

Nice you decided to delurk. As for the avie, you have to have 100 posts before you can get one....but don't worry, you'll get there in no time.

And, to answer your question, yes, I do think Daniel could very well settle down...with Betty, in the very, very end. But, it's going to take time...he still has a lot of maturing to do.

That's awesome that you've watched every version. You should go to the Betty's Around the World thread. You'd have some great insight for us there.

I definitly think that Daniel could settle down with someone like Betty. I think right now we're seeing the beginnings of a great friendship, but in the end, I think he will realize her loves her and cares for her in very different ways. Friends and soon as lovers.

Also, thanks for starting the thread Syd. It's awesome!! I love the title.

And yes, I also think Daniel could settle down with Betty. I like to think that once you've founf a person to love, you need anyone else (romantically speaking)

I agree with everyone. I think that if she were to leave for some reason, it would push him to see that he can't do it without her (awww!). I love them together. The friendship and the chemistry they have is so awesome.

Needless to say, whenever it happens for B/D, it won't be this way (with Daniel not convinced to do it; but I gotta say on Armando's defense that it was in a big part because he didn't want to hurt Betty. Despite what it seems, it is a sweet and heartbreaking scene) I can translate if you want me to the gist of it Like the last line: 'I wana do this because I love you. Because I love you Betty'

I think it will be along time before D/B get even close to ths *sigh*
