Because he technically disappeared from the timeline five years earlier.

Actually, no one on the Waverider met their future selves in the future, remember?

They stuck to the rules. The Flash, on the other hand, just made a complete mess of the writing.

Barry can't travel to the future and meet his future self because once he leaves the present day, he's no longer here to become future Barry.

Crazy that 5 years in the future in this episode, it doesn't seem like Matt's power was that advanced.

I guess the writers never expected Matt to become as strong as he became until season 2. lol
