Just nipped on after an evening out (couldn't resist) and saw we needed another paire top up
 Hope the titles ok?  can't remember for the life of me who suggested it, will check back and find out  so we know who to thank It's real hard to think of one everyone will like but just watching 'the hard part' clips natalie posted again and saw that scene between them in the bedroom and thought hmmm, yes that one - besides we'll be on thread #21 in no time. Good choice for the title  You're right, Jayne--thinking back to the bedroom scene, it's perfect  I can't believe we're moving so fast! Glad you like the avi! I was thinking about "The Hard Part" again (who isn't? ), and a couple of new thoughts crossed my mind:Now that Peter is exposed to Matt again, he'll be picking up his power and be more likely to use it, whether willingly or not. So, what kind of thoughts will he be picking up from Claire? Perhaps something like: "I'm scared, Peter. Hold me" "I'm glad I'm with Peter." "Don't leave me all alone, Peter. Stay with me."  I wonder what else she'd be thinking that he might overhear...Also, I know we were discussing how good Paire looked in their complimenting black & white outfits, but I just realized that Claire, for I think the first time in the series, was dressed as an adult. Not in a cheerleader's uniform or in casual jeans that anyone young or old could wear, but in a decidedly adult outfit. If you look at her first few scenes in the ep, she's wearing a fitted white blouse with dark slacks, and later on a matching dark jacket. Does this mean that the writers are trying to show her growth and new maturity so that (oh please let this be so) non-Paire-shipper Heroes fans will be more willing to accept her romantically involved with an older man (Peter) eventually? Oooh, I hope it does  __________________

I'm pretty sure the "older" looking clothes were Peter's mothers. Considering Claire arrived in only the clothes on her back I'm sure all of the new clothes she was wearing were Peter's mother's. Or maybe some were Nathans wifes. Either way it definitely made her seem older.

Maybe it's because EVERYONE can see it between them! Even the people who deny it! They only don't support because they say "he's too old" or "they're related". But they still see it! And I'm totally hoping they aren't REALLY related.

The chemistry between them is so obvious, isn't it? Even, as you say, Shelby, to those who want to deny it.
But it's more than that...Peter and Claire, despite the short time they've known each other, share a genuine and rare connection, and to fail to explore this potentially epic relationship would be a crime Paire just makes good sense all around EDIT: Oh, another thing about Peter reading Claire's mind: since Peter's an empath would his natural ability, combined with Matt's more specific power, make him somehow an even more powerful mind reader than Matt? Is this somehow a possiblity? I'm not sure if this makes sense... Here's a definition of empathy from Wikipedia: Empathy (from the Greek εμπάθεια, "to make suffer") is commonly defined as one's ability to recognize, perceive and directly experientially feel the emotion of another. As the states of mind, beliefs, and desires of others are intertwined with their emotions, one with empathy for another may often be able to more effectively define another's modes of thought and mood. Empathy is often characterized as the ability to "put oneself into another's shoes", or experiencing the outlook or emotions of another being within oneself, a sort of emotional resonance. Maybe since Peter, as an empath, can already "read" people's emotions and, with Matt's power, can also read thougths, his "mind-reading" ability is stronger than Matt's who can only "hear" the words people are thinking, but cannot necessarily feel or sense their emotions/moods. So what I'm saying is: Matt: reads thoughts Peter: reads thoughts + feels emotions so Peter's mind reading > Matt's mind reading Does this make sense to anyone? __________________

I know. Probably my favorite characters in the whole show are peter and claire...and it just makes sense for them to be together. You can't deny their chemistry. No matter what, they'll always have that chemistry. And we can only hope that the writers make them get together and NOT waste good chemistry.
Edit: I totally get what you mean. Since he already has that connection to her through absorbing her powers, there might be even more of a connection when reading her mind! this just gets better and better! |
