Summary: Claire attempts to live a normal social life when her romance with the football quarterback takes a tragic turn. Hiro convinces his friend that it's their destiny to travel to America to save the world. Niki's scared but follows instructions from a mysterious, unknown source that sends her to the middle of the desert. Meanwhile, Nathan uses Peter's accident for his own politcal gain. The FBI and Matt are on Sylar's trail, as is Suresh, whose father's journal contains potential clues.

NBC Description: The heroes begin to realize what their abilities can do for them... and for others.

I doubt we'll get to know what Peter's power is in this episode. About Niki... I'm dying to know, too.

According to some spoilers Peter uses his power to help Issac in Episode 5... So Peter probably won't figure out what his power is until episode 4 at the latest.

That's what I think, too. He only flies when Nathan is around.

It's not that he flies when Nathan is around... It's that both times he and Nathan were together both were at hightend levels of emotions, these emotions allowed Peters power (to absorb others energy, or power when regaurding the heroes) kick in. First when he and Nathan were twisting and turning mid-air, and the second time when Nathan was afraid Peter would jump and Peter was upset because he knew his brother was lying to him. Yes, he absorbs powers. But after he does do so I don't believe the origional owner of these powers has to be near for them to work.. Peter just doesn't know how to trigger them just yet. It seems so far each of the heroes powers are triggered in different ways

Peter and Nathan, emotionally
Claire's seem to be involentary... Like a sneeze. She has no control over whether or not she heals... It just happens
Niki also has no control over her power... At least her conscious mind has no control over her power
Hiro concentrates hard enough and he can control his teleportation to an extent, just not fully
As for Matt I'm not sure if he can control his power or not... It suddenly kicked in. Hopefully we find out more about it tomorrow night.

I love that the writers decided to have each character discover their power differently from the next... The only two who have discovered their powers the same way are Nathan and Peter and they don't even know it yet.

Does it mean Peter can fly (according to you) even if Nathan is on the other side of the world (not literally), and both Peter and Nathan are emotionally 'unstable' - at the same time? Do you think Peter can absorb powers of all world heroes, no matter who they are and where they are, or does this connection only works with Nathan?

I suppose all of them will control their powers, eventually. Somehow. Well, Jean Grey (X-Men) doesn't control (or either doesn't want to) her destructive powers. Some powers can be stronger than their holder himself/herself, huh?

I totally understand the theory about Peter absorbing powers.
He also drew stickmen of Peter and Nathan on the roof. And that would be more of Isaac's power.

That's something I still haven't figured out about Peters power yet. I've read spoilers and both times Peter uses the power of a heroe he's absorbed from, the hero is near him... So I don't think we'll know for sure if Peter can use others abilities while they're no where near him

I wouldn't say "emotionally unstable"... They're just at hightend levels of emotion

Eventually I imagine he'll be able to absorb anyones energy, or power when concerning the heroes, whenever he's in contact with someone. But as of right now it seems his power only kicks in when emotions are running high
