3x08: “VILLAINS”

To prepare for the confrontation ahead, Hiro follows respected businessman, husband and father Arthur Petrelli in the days before he “died” -- to discover what drove him to create rival company Pinehearst and strike at Angela Later, a moment unfolds where Sylar horrified and guilt-ridden, might have stopped his murderous pursuit of abilities -- that is, if H.R.G. and Elle had swayed from their monstrous assignment. Finally, under the wing of Company man Thompson agent-in-training Meredith, watches her new life go up in smoke, following the arrival of her hot-headed brother.

Love that XD Great episode it really connected a lot of the plots together. Flint and Meredith i liked quite a lot

Flint being the brawn and Meridith the brains is cool. It was quite interesting that she once was a company agent.... And that she was the one that caused the train to explode...

I actually for once didn't like the episode. It was all kinds of weird. I even don't know how to explain it, the whole thing was wacko. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but the eppy was boring. I'm also a little tired of this past/future timing, give us present action, that's what's missing.

Petrelli storyline was the only thing that was wrong.. the beginning part happened so fast that it was confusing for me

Everything was weird to me: Petrelli storyline (the weirdest!), Sylar/Elle (specially the way Sylar acted), Elle/HRG, Mer/Flint and in the end the african Issac dead and Hiro/Arthur action. Freaking W-E-I-R-D.

Also I didn't get the point of showing all those things to Hiro, most of the info is useless actually.

A lot of Linderman so that's the only plus for me.

lol.. i didnt think it was weird..

i mean its gabriel not like sylar.. gabriel acts that way... the need to feel special is very important to him.. we foudn that out with his "mother".. he is a normal human being who has soul.. who felt bad for what he did..

hrg and elle were on a mission to make sylar kill.. and they did that.. which made him the killer he is today.. he never wanted to kill..

it ties in with what we see him now.. trying to be good like he was before and not kill.. no one is born a killer really

the Petrelli storyline was ok just not the beginning everything happened so fast..

it went from Nathan talking to his father to the car crash to the hospital

the other storylines went a bit slower for me..

meredith and flint have an interesting relationship

This episode wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. It was so so.

First off poor Sylar. He tried to kill himself after what happened with that Brian guy. Then Elle shows up. And Elle really liked him back then. I thought they were cute eating pie together. Then you find it was all Bennet's idea to see if Sylar would kill again. Elle really didn't want to do it.

BENNET HOW COULD YOU?!

This is a thousand times worse than what happened with the vortex guy! If Claire knew that you're the one that made Sylar into a monster she would never forgive you!

Arthur was nothing but a greedy power hungry bastard, who would kill anyone to get what he wanted including his own son. Even Linderman thought he was evil. I felt so bad for Angela. After seeing what happened to her I take back every mean thing I ever said about her. She really loved Arthur but he broke her heart by betraying her. I don't blame her for killing him.

I see people like Angela and Bennet who are suppose to be the good guys but do things that are questionable and almost evil in a way, but deep down they really truly love their families and would die for them in order to protect them. Angela, Bennet and Sylar still have part of their souls inside them. Even Linderman and Maury has shown us that they're not complete monsters.

When I was watching the episode and one word came to mind about Arthur Petrelli: devil. To quote a line for The Usual Suspects: The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And that fits perfectly with Arthur Petrelli.

I wonder what's going to happen next week.

Was this episode written by new writers? I'll have to watch S1E01 again but the timeline was off and characters are very OOC, especially Elle. Sylar had already killed Chandra when Mo decided to switch careers and join the taxi industry so there's no innocent Sylar to speak of (revision history much?). I hated that they're trying pin the blame on Noah for Sylar's psycho-evilness. I would rather have Sylar be a remorseless badass villain just cause he can and he want to

Everyone seemed so way out of character! Elle was sane, Sylar was remorseful,Angela & Linderman were caring, HRG wanting Sylar to kill WTF?! Kring's going back & ruining S1 here! (Are we going to have a thread on the "Heroes: Destiny" Webisodes? That was really good!)
