jay, i honestly think because people think it's a bigger thing than perhaps it is. i'm not saying the rumor hasn't picked up steam in some places, but its not this HUGE thing. there are other big entertainment news grabbing headlines. and the reps denied it, and most TV outlets, tend to just run with the official story. they got the word from the reps, so there is no need to keep probing, and that is assuming they knew about it in the first place.

i think it's a bigger deal on the internet, but most people don't know anything about the rumors.

ps, have you seen the epi yet?

the reason was

"we are young and we decided to call it quits..its a hard time for us"

OMG! and when asked about Halo he says:
