(Claire walks into the room while Nathan and Angela mourn Peter)
Nathan: (voice breaking) Claire?
Claire: I know you don't want me here. I just want to see him. I came all this way. (short pause)

(Nathan is uncovering a painting of him, Claire knocks on door)
Claire: Your mom said you wanted to talk to me?
Nathan: I did, I do. Come in. Please. This should've happened a long time ago, under better circumstances. It shouldn't take someone nearly dying for the two of us to finally meet.
Claire: You know, you don't have to this. Pretend to be nice to me.
Nathan: I'm not pretending. Claire, most people think the worst of me and I've probably given them a good reason to, but I want to do better. I want to be there for you. (pauses) But I can't. Not now.

Nathan: I'm sorry, but there are things happening now that I don't expect you to understand. I barely understand them myself. I went into politics for the chance to do something good, to have a chance to help. To be a part of something big. And in order to do that, I have to-

Claire: Nathan doesn't care about you. He doesn't care about anyone. He doesn't care about me, and I'm his own daughter. We do not need him!

Claire: Why?
Peter: Because I'm afraid! Okay? And I need my brother to help us.

(Peter and Claire meet up with Nathan in a parking garage.)
Nathan: Look, if what you're saying's real, then there's no reason to involve Claire in this. It's just too dangerous.
Peter: No, she has to stay with me.
Nathan: She's just a kid, Pete.
Peter: If I find Sylar, and I'm able to stop him, then she's the only one who can stop me if something goes wrong.
Nathan: You're going to be fine.
Peter: How do you know?
Nathan: You told me that you could regenerate, that you could survive.
(Peter overhears Nathan's thoughts) There's nothing you can do to stop it, Peter. They're all going to die.
Nathan: What is it?
Peter: Claire was right about you.
(Claire slips out of the car and runs away while Nathan and Peter are distracted)

Nathan: I have to get some paperwork. I won't be coming back to the office.
Angela: Helicopter's picking us up from the roof in ten minutes. When the jet lands tomorrow morning, you'll be safe.
Claire: But everyone else'll be dead. How can you do nothing to stop this?
Angela: It's inevitable, dear. There's nothing anyone can do about it.
Claire: That's insane! Nothing is inevitable. The future is not written in stone!
Nathan: I'm afraid this one is.
Claire: If everything is so inevitable, then why has she been trying to keep us apart all these years?
Angela: There are things you simply aren't mature enough to understand yet.
Claire: Yeah, like how you can let your own son die like this. Your own brother!
Nathan: He's not gonna die.
Angela: Thanks to you, Peter has the ability to survive.
Claire: So he lives, and kills millions of people. How can you let him be responsible for something like that? And how can you live with yourself if he is?
Nathan: Claire, I know that it's hard for you to trust me right now, but this is all going to make sense very soon. I promise.

(Nathan suddenly swoops down from the sky and lands between Peter and Claire.)
