It must've been hard for Matt with his dad gone so much, but I'm glad Coach was always there for him.

It hit him harder than anyone.

Which is what makes that scene in S2 so much more heartbreaking, when Coach picks him and his grandma up from the hospital and then the whole bathtub thing happens. I think that was the first time Coach could really clearly see how much him leaving had affected Matt.

It was definitely hilarious. Especially since season 2 had some darker moments.
