great points...and I too believe that Tyra should have been a little easier on her, I believe alot of her reasons for hating Lyla aren't even about Lyla herself...and as far as her next relationship, I really really want to see something with her and Tim...I think that they would be so good for each other (i'm a total Tyla shipper ) because they really did fall for each other...and I think their journey, as two people who have been as dejected as they have this year, would be beautiful to watch unfold...I think they bring out the best in one another...

as far as the drive-thru car wreckage...guess she just can't get attention for the life of her huh? NO ONE said anything...I don't understand why they ignored that...

Your turn Tyra. Liked the interaction, but thought the reaching out and the apologizing was a bit one-sided. I’m ordering Tyra never to blame Lyla for Buddy/Angela again, b/c that makes her just look dumb.

This is so not the thread for this, but I gotta say something here. I can totally understand Tyra's side here. If you're mad you can ocasionaly blame someone else, I'm not saying that it's right, but it happens. I don't even believe Tyra was actually blaming Lyla, more like she was taking out her anger towards Buddy in the wrong person. And we saw that in three seconds they've changed the subject, so that really wasn't the problem.

Ditto the Tim excuse, and THANK YOU Lyla for pointing out they were already broken up

And like Tyra said, if someone's having problems with their relationship doesn't mean they're broken up. Jason and Lyla were having problems and it wasn't right for him to go and cheat on her. It doesn't make it any better.

Also, if you want to be friends, dial down the auto-snark reflex

I liked the interaction and all, btu I don'tthink they'll become best friends any time soon. And the snark thing, Tyra goes like that with everyone, even her mom, so I don't think is something directed at Lyla since we saw her doing that to Julie as well.

i never really enjoyed Lyla until recently.. I like that her character is becommng her own person and stronger.

Me too Kon, but ever since she started to make her life her own, she's been growing on me. I lovedt he fact that she's changing so much. that she's actually seeing who she is, and who she was still trying to be.

I really think she should have some time to herself. I mean, the girl is going through so much she need to figure out what she wants fer herself before engaging another relationship, with anyone. I have a huge crush for Lyla and Jason, I still think their story is far from over, so I would like to see something there. I don't hate Lyla and Tim together, but I never saw any real pasion there (please don't hit me).

I really like Tyra, but I think if she is also going to go on a journey of self-realization and improvement, she has to stop making excuses for herself and face some of her issues. (And she could also tell her fans to stop making the same excuses for her).

It really stood out to me that Tyra's attitude was, "Yeah, that's how I am, bitchy and snarky, yeah I flirt with your BF, that's what I do, screw off if you don't like it b/c I have a certified idiot for a Mom and I'm poor." Why does she get to use this for a blanket excuse when Lyla is slammed for "Yeah I'm smart and rich, and my parents are idiots too but I have a nice house?" I think both Tyra and her fans are letting her off too easy. Don't hide behind the tough girl "love it or leave it" snark, figure out how to move past it and make it better. It's hard and it may hurt (ask Lyla), but is the only way to become a better, more grown up person, which I truly believe is what Tyra wants.

I don't expect Lyla and Tyra to be BFF either, but if they are going to friends, it's Tyra's turn to make an effort, since Lyla has now twice extended a hand, even in the face of likely having it biten off.

Thanks for the heads up about what thread this is about. I'm glad to reciprocate by letting you know what the current discussion in this thread is about. (This information is also available by reading back a few posts, always a good idea). Part of what it is about is the tenative friendship, or at least thaw in the cold war, between Tyra, whose thread I understand this is not, and Lyla, whose thread this is.

Call me crazy, but I just thought it would be logistically cumbersome to hop back and forth between the two characters' threads to have this discussion. Thus Tyra's journey, as relates to her interaction with Lyla in the last ep, ended up here.

And I still think it's Tyra turn to make a concilatory gesture.

I don't want things to get too off track here. This thread is for Lyla/Minka and it's fine to bring up other people involved in her life and how they pertain to/affect her, but let's not dissect those other characters here.............we have seperate threads for every character.

Creating a Tyra/Lyla thread for more in depth conversation on each character and how they could/should or couldn't/shouldn't be friends is more than welcome.

backstreets: Regarding the Lyla/Tyra scene, I agree. I wish Tyra had taken responsibility (and apologized too) for her previous actions against Lyla instead of her "I'm a bitch and that's what I do" lame excuse. If these two girls will attempt a relationship/friendship, it has to be addressed.
