Movie Synopsis:

When a lovelorn man is asked to serve as the maid of honor in the wedding of the woman with whom he has fallen deeply in love, he accepts the offer in hopes of winning her heart and proving his undying love.
Patrick Dempsey stars in a romantic comedy that takes a look at love from the male perspective.

But when Colin, a rich Scotsman sweeps Claire off her feet and asks for her hand, he must witness her unquestioned happiness up close and personal, because she's chosen him to be her Maid Of Honor.

Made of Honor revolves around Tom (Dempsey) and Claire (Monaghan), who have been platonic friends for 10 years. He’s a serial dater, while she wants marriage but hasn’t found Mr. Right. Pollack will play the father of Tom. Just as Tom is starting to think that he is relationship material after all, Claire gets engaged. When she asks Tom to be her “maid” of honor, he reluctantly agrees just so he can attempt to stop the wedding and woo her.

'It's about two best friends who met in college. My character invents the cardboard sleeve for coffee cups and makes a ton of money and becomes a bit of a player. Michelle Monaghan's character goes off to Scotland, meets a man and asks my character to be her maid of honour. During the process he discovers she's the perfect woman for him.'

Tom Bailey is a guy who is extremely successful because he invented the coffee collar. (A coffee collar keeps you from burning your hand.) Tom is a bit of a playboy and he’s really good friends with Claire. They’re best friends. When she comes back from Scotlang, engaged and in love with a Scottish man and she goes off and falls in love with this Scottish man, then comes back and asks him to be the maid of honor and at that point he realizes how much he really loves her and that she’s the perfect girl for him and then he has to go and try to figure out how to sabotage the marriage and the wedding.

Though I also read that whether the movie is being released or not, Patrick still gets the money.. Talk about a sweet deal

It's good to see Patrick starring in a movie.

It seems kind of impossible that it'd be releasing in December of this year, considering we don't even have a full cast yet. I assume it'll be filmed this summer, so I don't really see how it'll be out by the end of the year.

That's why I'm confused about the date as well.. Especially seeing how Enchanted was filmed last summer and is being released around the same date.

My guess is still on 2008, and I'm guessing that they made a mistake. And if it's indeed the release date, then they'd better hurry!

Enchanted has a lot of animation and special effects, which is why it is taking a while to be released.

Sure, the man is also responsible for Roseanna's Grave, but is that film really enough to keep him in mind for romantic comedies?

As Erik shared in December, Honor follows Dempsey's character, a man in love with a woman (yet uncast) who is engaged to someone else. She asks him to be her "maid" of honor, and he accepts the position, planning to steal her from her current beau -- definitely not a plan made of honor. It's great to see the idea of "maid of honor" get questioned, since men and women are no longer socially divided by sex, but that's pretty much dashed by his scheme to get the girl. I can only hope that they give the woman some credit and not have her heart won by a man who agrees to stand at her wedded side only to get the goods for himself.

Good to hear that they'll start shooting in May, when Grey's is done shooting.
and the release date is still December.. I hope that will turn out fine, that the editing won't be rushed..
