Just a question i think i may have posted wrong....the topic was submissions for best writing in a drama....that would be what they are submitting for best drama right??

I think those are different categories, since writers are often given awards during those ceremonies too.. but I may be wrong

I'm not really sure..
because on the goldderby site, they still also have 'Forever Young' and 'Kung Fu Fighting' listed..

Yes, to help you clarify "Best Drama Series" and "Writing for Drama Series" are two different categories.

BDS - They submit episodes where the emmy voters vote for the episode as a whole including acting, writing, storylines, etc. The whole cast and crew would be up for this award.

WDS - This category would be for Shonda and individual writers to submit their best work for the year. So, just the individual writer of that particular episode would get that emmy award.
