Stars Of 'Earl,' 'Grey's' Will Take Emmy Stage



LOS ANGELES (Aug. 10, 2006) -- Jason Lee, Jaime Pressly, Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, and William Petersen have been confirmed as presenters for the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

The show, hosted by Conan O'Brien will broadcast live from Los Angeles' historic Shrine Auditorium, Sunday, August 27 on NBC.

Jason Lee stars in and is a producer for "My Name Is Earl, " NBC's hit comedy series about a hapless crook who has an epiphany after winning a small fortune in the lottery. In 2005, Lee received Golden Globe Award and SAG Award nominations for his role as "Earl Hickey."

This summer, Lee voiced the title character of "Underdog," in the upcoming live-action feature adaptation of the classic 1960s cartoon. He previously voiced the character of 'Syndrome' in the Academy-Award winning "The Incredibles," as well as a character in the recent motion-capture feature release, "Monster House."

Jaime Pressly has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress category for her role as "Joy" on NBC's hit comedy series "My Name Is Earl." Her most memorable television role before "Earl" was on "Jack & Jill" in which she played the aspiring Broadway dancer "Audrey Griffin."

Pressly was last seen on the big screen in the satirical comedy, "Not Another Teen Movie." Her upcoming projects include a starring role in the independent feature film "DOA: Dead or Alive," and a role in the independent film " Venus & Vegas."

Currently starring as "Dr. Meredith Grey" in the Emmy-nominated ABC-TV series "Grey's Anatomy," Ellen Pompeo's first major studio screen debut "Moonlight Mile," in which she starred alongside Susan Surandon, Dustin Hoffman and Jake Gyllenhaal. Pompeo's other film credits include: "Old School" and "Catch Me If You Can." Prior to Moonlight Mile, Pompeo starred in several independent features, including "In the Weeds," and "Coming Soon."

Patrick Dempsey, aka Dr. McDreamy, currently stars on the hit ABC series "Grey's Anatomy."

His portrayal of Dr. Derek Shepherd has earned him both a 2006 Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama and a 2006 Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series.

He is currently in working on the Paramount film "Freedom Writers" and he will next star opposite in the Disney film "Enchanted".

William Petersen has a distinguished background in film, theater and television. His television credits include the films "Long Gone," "The Rat Pack," "The Kennedys of Massachusetts," "The Beast" and "Keep the Change."

Petersen also serves as executive producer on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and was nominated in 2003 for a Golden Globe Award for his portrayal of Gil Grissom, the lead investigator.

His feature film credits include "To Live and Die in L.A.," "Manhunter," "Cousins," "Young Guns II," "Fear," "Hard Promises," which he also produced, and "The Contender."
