I understand that its truly hard to join in on conversations you're not 'in the know ' about... Maybe PM them, or post in the Ellen or the FB thread that you like to talk to them somewhere.. Whether that's here (PD forum pimping ) or in the Off Topic thread of the GA board. I know there's one there too.

Are you going to give GA a try again? The finale is good (well I'm almost done finishing it), and its fantastic so far

and you do not sound winey! Not at all

From what I've read about the finale I'm not going back to Grey's again. For a lack of a better word I was dicusted by the way it was written. In regards to M/D and especially Meredith. It made me compleley loose respect for Meredith as a person and as a surgeon. And I never thought I would ever say that.

What made you 'disgusted' by it? What did Meredith do?

It doesn't matter. I just thought the whole thing was cheap. They made her crawl back it him despite nothing having changed. And if she thinks she's cured because of a couple of theraphy sessions with a therapist who promotes her lack of self esstem then she's kidding herself.

But then that's just me being angry and bitter again. Which I don't want to be. I hate that I'm feeling that way. I used to love this couple but now I can't.

I think the therapist served good purpose, and Meredith told Derek that not everything was fully right yet, and that she didn't trust him at this moment, but that she was willing to try. Its not a 100% perfect happy ending, which is more then okay for me, since they have much things to figure out. I think this is just meant as a new start for them. I think the issues that are left to deal with, are going to be explored next season. Not all can be fixed within an episode

And I understand the feeling of being bitter and angry... though when it comes to TV, I'm an easy satisfied tv watcher!

I'm sorry that you've lost your lvoe for this couple. I truly hope it comes back.
Though there are other reasons to watch the show too.. Alex's storyline was remarkable! I'm just trying to get you back on the wagon again

What other shows do you watch besides GA btw right now?

I thought it would be. But it ended up being a new way to blame Meredith for everything. Derek hurt her and so she walked away but that makes her a coward. WTH?

He hasn't given her any reason to trust him. He hasn't changed. She's telling him that he can do what he wants and she'll take him back regardless. Why the hell is she the only one trying? Why isn't he fighting to show that she can trust him this time?

I know but Meredith is the only one doing the fixing.

Rigt now Lost and Smallville. And even the former one is irritating the crap out of me. But aparently things are getting better so they have one last chance with me too.

Thats sweet but I don't think so. One good storyline in four years for Alex isn't going to change my mind. And the others bounce from useless to irriatating. I wish I could enjoy the show but I'v felt angry with the way things have been written. I though they were going to get better but they just got worse. Which sucks. I should shut up now. Everyone should be happy with the finale without listening to me being all negative.

I think the 'coward' reference was more meant as a whole. That Meredith ran away from her issues, not dealing with them. Whether it was about Derek, or about her mother. She stuffed them inside, not dealing with them. Not wanting to face them. That's how i picture it.

Which is why she says she can't trust him yet.

Just the fact that she's willing to try doesn't make her forgive him. That's not how it works IMO. I think her saying she's willing to try to trust him, is her way of saying she's willing to open herself up again. But I think when someone tells you that, that she's not able to trust him yet, that you know you have to win her trust back again too.

If I have to be honest. We've seen too little of the reunion to give a full opinion about it yet. I only see this episode as the beginning of a new attempt at trying. Doesn't mean they're going to succceed, or that it will go without a bump.
and this episode shows that Derek has insecurities, whether he's truly aware of them in the way that he should, I'm not sure, But I hope that these insecurities/fears will result in Derek taking action in regaining trust too.

Like I said, I think Derek's part will come next season. I think they fixed Meredith enough, they made her 'whole' to focus on other things then Mer fixing herself. Perhaps Derek 'fixing' himself. Shonda is aware of Derek having issues, she said so in an interview, so I"m sure she's going to use that in the next season.

I'm actually hearing more bad stories about the latter one, Smallville, with stars leaving or having smaller parts.

Exactly she has to 'take on faith' that things will be different and she can trust him this time. I happen to remember the last two times she took something on faith.

IMO that shou;d have started before she took him back. I personally wouldn't take back a boyfriend I didn't trust. Unless he could show me in some way big or small that he was willing to change and earn back my trust before we got back togther. Then we could work the rest out.

He hasn't given her any such reassurance or evidence. He had to leave her to go break up with his gorlfriend of three months. Classy. He's still jumping from one womans bed to another. He hasn't learned from his mistakes.

She has no reason to belive that if things get tough again that he won't start sniffing for the next Lexie in a bar or the next Rose.

made her 'whole'
But she's not, one break through does not make her whole. And her mother had nothing to do with why she couldn't trust Derek. Any insinuation that it was is insulting to me.

.

Smallville I can handle. The storys are usually really good and I know theirs going to be Clois next sesaon. Maybe not of the romantic kind but I'm ok with that. I'm enjoying the journey. It's been a bumpy ride but now that Lana's gone I feel like the show can finally make some progress.

Breaking up with someone else, before continuing with Meredith is more of the best thing to do IMO. It wouldn't be Derek if he didn't do that. And IMO he's definitely not jumping from bed to bed, by telling Rose.

I'd suggest to just wait and see where the next season takes us. You can't have everything fixed before you get together again. Derek at this point isn't even aware of his problems I believe, and apart from the trust issue there aren't any other issues adressed. Trust can be build again within a relationship.

If you had seen the ep you could see that the mother killing herself was the start of her issues. And that she had also misinterpretended things with her mother last season. It's not just Derek who idd something wrong, Meredith pushed Derek away last season too. Thinking she couldn't build on him too much, so she pushed him away, which was part of the reason they broke up, she didn't let him in. Which she does now. I think the other issues are left to be fixed for the new season.
In the end I'm happy with the end result. Things are still somewhat unclear, though very very hopeful for MD. Makes you give you a reason to tune in. IMO.

I suggest to just watch the episode. I've read a few synopsis before actually watching the ep, and the episode itself was much better then any synopsis had told me...

There are a lot of ships on Smallville aren't there? Lois/Clark? Clark/Lana? Clark/Chloe?

I said that throught season three. The beginig of season for. Post strike Season 4. I am tired of wait and see. When in the end I know that I am going to be disapointed.

I get that Derek wasn't the only one to do something wrong. She pushed him away I'll agree. But then Derek wasn't trying to hard to be there anyway. Whn she did try and let him in and apoligised for pushing him away. He told her 'I don't want to breath for you'.

Meredith never lets anyone in that's just the way she is guarded. Because people have hurt and left her. Not because her mother attempted suicide because of Richard leaving. That in my opinion came out of no where. There was nothing in Ellis behaviour that ever said she was suicidal. And if she was her scenes with Richard when she was lucid would have played way differnt. IMO.

It was just another way to shift blame off Derek.

One of the main reason they broke up, she said was because she couldn't trust him. That wasn't because of her mother that was because of Addision, throwing the girl in the bar her face and Rose.

At the end of the day Derek never so much as apoligised to her and yet she's turning up with candles. To beg him leave his girlfriend and come back to her. That IMO is degrading Meredith is better than that. It is no better than when she said 'pick me' and leave your wife.
