I agree he is definatly happier and yes he does listen to meredith, lol. Otherwise they would have had a fight at the and of episode 9 instead of making love!

This is my point. Derek wants to build a stable relationship with Meredith. He wants that Mer knows him, a fresh start (I'm Derek Shepherd). He wants to know her opinion. The opposite of Addison (passiva aggressiva). I remember when in the ep.218-219 he didn't want to talk with her about Mark but with Meredith he wanted to know why she didn't talk with him about tremorgate.

Derek is happy with Meredith, really happy. And I'm glad to see his smile

He's adorable, i love sex starved derek, which he was basically and yeah he does talk to meredith a lot more than he did with addison!

I don't think Addison was the love of his life. He saved his marriage if he thought that his wife was really important for him. He talked with her. He wasn't absent etc.
He found in Seattle the love of his life and I hope the writers will give them the possibility to stay together for many episodes

They could have lunch together, they could page each other or call (if possible, not during the surgery, certainly, but they know the schedule of each other), or make a "date" in the hallway..The writers need to confirm in the blog that they are not on the break? What the hell the reunion is this? If this is a reunion, what they will show us when MerDer is on the break?
My question is: who is that idiot that thinks that lack of MerDer is good for the show? IMO, Izzie alone has had x- times more time in S3 than MerDer together..Why is that?

I think that leads back to the fact that he's heard quite a few things in the past few episodes, the biggest one being Addison living with Mark for a while. I think Derek wants to stay away from lies, and nothing but honesty. I don't think it really depends on the person here, but more on Derek's way of a fresh start in his life.

Also the Mark situation and the tremorgate situation are slightly different situations IMO

Derek may decline the offer of Chief if it's being handed to him, which up to this point is still the big question, but I think he would put thought into it and take a good look at what kind of life the current Chief has right now and what kind of life he has had in the past.

I think it's hard to base an opinion about that since in the end we haven't really had lots of D/A scenes to begin with. And since it's pretty much all about Meredith on the show, I think it's a given that we have more scenes with M/D aka likely more communication scenes, IMO.

To me it doesn't really matter how long those scenes take so I don't really look at the seconds, but the scenes they've had show a perfectly normal couple IMO. What more could you ask for?! I don't really get that opinion actually.

interesting discussion. i do agree (surprise) that him wanting the truth now, has more to do with his new outlook on life than any one person. i too believe you could insert the person and he'd feel the same way.

as for who he talks to more. as far as i'm concerned he talked to addison for 11 years. he was a happily married man for years. all we have seen is a year out of his and addison't life and they are at a point where we get why they aren't talking.

but, in terms of how he is with merideth now, i could only compare it if i saw how he was with addison at the beginning of their thing, which would be presumably happy, since he married her.

but it's two different women, two different relationships, he loved/loves them both. there is no comparison for me, because we are not seeing addison and derek at their happiest, so i have nothing to go on. and last year is really nothing to go on at all.

as for that review, yeah i'm not sure what they want. i think we are seeing a couple starting over. i think the pacing is perfect.

For me the situation is similar. We are talking about honesty, loyalty etc.
Sure it's fresh start and person for me. When he decided to reopen to Addison his attitude was different. Opinion.

Sure we don't know much about Addek past but, for example, if Addison threw her wedding ring into the water it's because she saw Derek happy (maybe for the first time), Derek said (now I don't remember the quote) "It's happiness" and she accepted this. If they were so in love they (both) saved their marriage. When he married her, he loved her but, for me, she wasn't THE ONE. Opinion.

It's a fan opinion. I agree with some things and sure many fans deserve to see (finally) many cute scenes for their favourite couple (especially after the reunion). Their "angst" is normal.

I just think that we should be extremely happy with the scenes we've gotten so far for MD, especially with the amount of scenes they throw into 1 episode.
I understand that it's a fan's opinion, but they're not really saying what they do want to see, what kind of different scenes.

i agree, i'd like to know what exactly someone else would want. i'm actually curious. with a cast of what 12? 13? what more do they want in 43 minutes. as a fan i don't think i deserve anything. there are things i'd like. but i think they do a great job of giving 13 people something significant to do every week.

i really am curious just what they'd need to see to satisfy them. because to be fair, it's only been three weeks, i'm looking for more to come.

All people compare Meredith and Addison for all. Derek compared them in some moments (for example when he talked with his sister). They are different and he loved Addison and now he loves Meredith but his love for these women is different. In a whole life the true love is ONE and for Derek this woman is Meredith.

I think it's normal that some people are tired after many episodes. They are fans and many of them are obsessed (I read many funny comments online)

Yeah, I agree with you. I don't understand why it's a problem that there wasn't much Meredith/Derek.
