Season 5 Synopsis (courtesy of ABC)

Recipient of the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Television Series and multiple Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series for the past two years, "Grey's Anatomy" returns to the ABC Television Network for its fifth season.

Is "happily ever after" possible for Meredith Grey and Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd? With Meredith experiencing a breakthrough in therapy - the realization that she and Derek can be extraordinary together, rather than ordinary apart -- she and Derek now face the highs and lows of being a committed couple.

Continuing their first year as residents at Seattle Grace Hospital, Meredith, Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens and Alex Karev have interns of their own to mentor, including Meredith's half-sister, Lexie Grey. Lexie has become a roommate and confidante to George O'Malley, who, after divorce with Callie, a breakup with Izzie, and learning that he failed his residency test by only one point, is striving to get both his professional and personal life back on track.

After attending to his girlfriend Rebecca's mental illness on his own, and revealing that he had gone through this with his own mother, Alex finds solace in Izzie's arms. Alex must continue through this difficult time, whether or not Izzie remains by his side.

Cristina, having finally won out over her tough-as-nails mentor, Erica, is back on track as a surgeon - but is there a chance for new love in her life as well?

With the encouragement of Mark "McSteamy" Sloan, Dr. Callie Torres has taken a chance on love with cardiothoracic surgeon, Erica Hahn; now, she and Erica must figure out what happens after the first kiss.

Overseeing the residents is the no-nonsense Chief Resident, Miranda Bailey. Facing marital troubles and the difficulty of balancing her work and personal life, Bailey has handed her responsibilities as head of the free clinic over to Izzie. Also striving for balance is Chief of Surgery, Richard Webber, who has reunited with his estranged wife, Adele.

The doctors of Seattle Grace Hospital deal with life-or-death consequences on a daily basis - it's in one another that they find comfort, friendship and love. Together they're discovering that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white. Real life only comes in shades of grey.

ABC - Meredith freaks out when Derek discovers her mother's old diary in the house, Callie frets as she prepares for her first official date with Erica, and Cristina stumbles into a part of the hospital that neither she nor her fellow residents have seen before.

• A male patient named Arnie goes to the ER after his wife Maureen threw a remote control at him claiming that he is boring! A doctor explains to Arnie that he's been lethargic because of a bening brain tumor. This could explain why he mostly slept through a trip he took with his wife. Arnie is concerned that Maureen wants to divorce him. However, when she learns that he is sick, Maureen feels really bad. To convince a kid to let the nurse put an IV on him, a doctor agrees to have one put on his own arm.

Episode 5.05 - There's No I in Team

• Two doctors explain an extremely risky set of surgeries to parents and relatives of 10-year-old Tori Begler, a young patient with a tumor in her abdomen. The parents are concerned because none of the other hospitals they visited suggested these surgeries before. One of the doctors admits that it's never been done before. Doctors also help Charley Hiott, who needs a tetanus shot

OMG now I´m really scared! what the hell happend that meredith is screaming so loud and scared. . I really hope it has nothing to do with derek.... I saw a little bit of derek beneath the chef...but I´m not so sure. the patient who lies there could also be derek when I look to his nose? I don´t know... but shonda said that he would´nt have an accident. I´m confused!

now I really can´t wait for the new episodes!

The theme of the episode is dreams so even if it is derek on the gurney, then i think its just a dream mer is having. I think its him on there too, its definatly his nose im my opinion. And he was in the room with the chief but i think thats a different scene

Thats how people are "identifying" him, lol. Lets face it PD has a distinctive nose, in some peoples screen captures you can see him nose and it has the bump PD has, well it looks like it does, we wont know till we get more promo's or till the actual episode

Rose's pregnancy is another nightmare. It's funny because people speculated about a car accident for Derek and about Rose's pregnancy and Shonda put these two things like Meredith and Derek nightmares.

Its a fake out but still was it necessary to put in the promo, my buzz was just deflated!!

If Rose is really pregnant, MD fans will boycott this show forever. I have no doubt about this. It's the reason because I think it's another nightmare.
