Just whenever a character wears a certain colour shirt, for quite a few i believe, things go bad for them in the episode...its just something fans have noticed, lol.

I believe mer's colour is purple for bad things to happen to her, lol

Shonda uses a lot of symbolism. When ever a character wears red some bad usually happens.
