The Oscar-nominated thesp — and former co-star of HBO's gone-but-not-forgotten Carnivale — is playing a psychiatrist who, and I'm just speculating here, may be the one to help Meredith get over her commitment issues, thus paving the way for the Mer/Der reunion Shonda Rhimes has been hyping. Meanwhile, Madigan's former Carnivale co-star, Clea DuVall, will fill the "everywoman housewife" role I teased in last week's Ask Ausiello. Her George Clooney-esque husband will be played by Jason O'Mara (Men in Trees, In Justice). I'm guessing one of them will be a patient. Both are on board for two episodes.

I'm ok with Meredith's therapy but Derek? Is Rose his therapy? Really?
I suppose people should start to accept that it will be always Meredith's fault. It's her destiny in this show. Of course they will reunite them in the finale and a large part of MD fans will be happy but they won't be believable again. Loyal fans deserve better.

Derek will never see a shrink since Shonda thinks everything is Meredith's fault while nothing is ever his fault.

I agree. Both should start a therapy. Anyway I hope Meredith will resolve her issues for herself. About Derek, I'm really sad for this character. He deserves to grow too. Rose won't help him, she will damage him a lot especially to the eyes of the fans.

I hope for herself but, in Shonda's mind, she will take this decision for Derek..

Anyway I can't wait for Ellen and Amy scenes. It's always a pleasure to watch two great actresses to act together. (I miss Kate Burton).

It pains me to think how mant Derek/Rose scenes we would have to have suffered if i guess ABC had not stepped in, i doubt she would have changed not if she hadn't been told too

It's confirmed my opinion. Shonda planned a serious relationship for Derek and Rose but ABC compelling her for another direction. Honestly in the ep.411 Derek moved on from Meredith. It will be hard for Shonda fix this mess.
