Episode 4.07 - Physical Attraction Chemical Reaction

Theresa- 30 something woman who runs in holding her baby. She obviously rushed in since she is wearing a nightgown and is crying. She tells the doctors that she was carrying the baby down the stairs and she fell. During the fall the baby hit her head, and while she was crying before she is now eerily silent. Teresa is terrified, and at first refuses to hand the baby to Dr. Smith. Finally, she is convinced to hand the baby over and Dr. Smith tells her that the baby is just sleeping, but needs a neuro consult. Teresa hugs Dr. Smith, only to fall to the floor. Dr. Smith calls for a crash cart - Teresa is not breathing.

Sean - Teresa's husband. Rugged mechanic. Dr. Martin tells Sean that the baby's CT was fine, but there were some things they want to keep an eye on. Sean tells Dr. Martin that he cannot even concentrate, since his wife is about to go into surgery and he needs to go be there with her. Before he leaves Dr. Gardner stops him and asks him the baby's name since they need it for the records. He tells them that they didn't pick one out, but they did have a nickname for her - Carl! He head mechanic where he works is bald like the baby, so it became an inside joke between them.

Something happens that isn't included in the sides, since later we see Sean approach Dr. Gardner while she is eating her lunch. He's apologizing for something he said or did, but Dr. Gardner dimisses saying that he was under stress and she understands. He then tells Dr. Gardner that he and Teresa struggled to get the money to have the baby, and now they only get to enjoy it for one week and then this happens, he's back in struggle. He also says that he cannot raise the baby alone, the baby needs its mother. He simply cannot do this without his wife.

Jane, Don, & Brian - Jane and Don are an arguing married couple and Brian is their eight year-old son. Brian has swallowed pennies while Jane left him unattending shopping online Don angrily informs the medical staff, and Jane retorts that if Don was home once in awhile he would see what she was buying. Brian tells Dr. Keller that it was only one penny and Dr. Keller tells them it just has to pass. Brian uses the situation to make them promise to stop fighting They return later on and with Brian, who is doubled over in pain. Turns out that he has eaten MANY pennies, and Brian is in serious danger. While Brian is sleeping, Dr. Keller comes over to Jane and tells her that Brian will have a long recovery but he will be fine. Jane tells Dr. Keller that she and Don never should have gotten married - there was an instant attraction and they wound up in bed together and stayed there basically the whole summer. That, she says, is where it should have ended. Still, she cannot leave him because the sex is still so good. She asks him if he knows how hard it is, to give up the one person you want most in the world.

Harriet - A 40 something woman who is in for a chin procedure. Dr. Jackson is working with Dr. Green. He begins to explain the procedure, but what she wants is a procedure that will make her look like Dr. Green who is very pretty. Harriet continues, pointing out that Dr. Green is already getting worry lines and asking what she has to worry about. Dr Green says she has nothing to worry about. She also points out that Dr. Green now has a scowl and is getting frown lines and advises her to fix whatever is wrong in her life quickly since it is making her ugly. Dr. Green comes in after the surgery and tells Harriet to get up and mobile, but Harriet tells her no and to stop scowling at her - she tells Dr. Green that she is getting uglier by the second.

It's the title (Maybe ABC will change it. I don't know). Many other GA episodes had a long title too

With both Elizabeth Reaser and Kate Burton up for the same award as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama, one could perhaps expect some drama in the usual Grey's Anatomy vein, but Reaser assured us there would be no catfight if either took home the award. As a consolation prize, the Grey's actresses did offer some scoop. "Although my character was killed off, I'm coming back as a flashback, according to Shonda," says Burton. "'This is not the end of Ellis Grey,' she said, 'and I'm fascinated by that.'" Ava is back as well, although Reaser squirms and refuses to confirm more than one episode. "I'll get in trouble if I say anything."

So Ellis returns as a flashback.. Interesting.. Good to see that Kate Burton isn't totally gone.. But I hope they won't overuse the flashbacks in order to get Kate Burton to return sometimes..

Herrmann at Glenmoor. When actor ...
Published on Thursday, Sep 13, 2007

Herrmann at Glenmoor. When actor Edward Herrmann becomes grand marshal at the Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles today, he won't just be a big name doing a job.

The award-winning Herrmann is very serious about automobiles. While this will be his first visit to the Canton event, he is a regular at other auto concours.

The interest began while he was growing up in Detroit. His father, he recalled, was one of the few engineers not working in the auto industry. But the fathers of all his friends did, and he became steeped in the car culture.

Now 64, Herrmann started car-collecting in his 20s, with an Austin Healey that he said got so hot, it was ''not a wise car to have in California.''

In the '80s, he bought his first Packard and remains especially fond of that make. He currently owns a 1932 Packard 900 roadster and has kept track of subsequent owners of his first Packard, since ''I hope it ends up in my garage again.''

Gilmore Gone. We also talked about his day job, which included playing Richard Gilmore on Gilmore Girls, the now-ended Lauren Graham comedy-drama. Asked if it was strange to be going into the fall without the show, he said, ''It is actually. I've been doing it for seven years . . . and it was a pleasure. . . . There's been no lack of work (since the show ended), but it's not regular.''

A Grey's Visit. The new work included three episodes for the new season of Grey's Anatomy, in which he plays ''the oldest living intern.'' At first, Herrmann said, his character was going to die from a stroke. But now it looks as if he will live, and Herrmann may do more episodes.

He enjoyed the job, too. ''It's a terrific cast,'' he said. Asked how people felt since Isaiah Washington's departure, he said it wasn't talked about much. When Patrick Dempsey invited Herrmann to breakfast, ''We talked cars, because he races. (Washington) never came up.''

Still, from the vibe on the set, Herrmann said, ''I think they're relieved. . . . I think everybody was glad to be rid of the guy.''

More on Acting. Herrmann said ''the business of show business is depressing and endlessly stupid, but the acting itself is thrilling.'' And he finds that he's still fine-tuning his craft. When he worked with Alec Guinness in the late '80s, in what proved to be Guinness' last stage performance, he marveled at the way Guinness could strip his stage business down to the most economical gestures. Herrmann sees the same economy in Spencer Tracy, and in Don Cheadle, ''one of my favorite actors.''

Glenmoor Basics. The gathering has a welcome party tonight (admission is $35), a gala dinner Saturday ($95) and the full car show on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets for Sunday are $20 for individuals and $50 for families in advance, $25 and $60 at the gate. For more information, go to The Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles 2007 Concours d'Elegance.

Schaefer's Official. As was anticipated in Wednesday's column, news anchor Stefani Schaefer will rejoin WJW (Channel 8) as part of the early-weekday-morning team beginning Sept. 24. She will appear in the 7-to-9 a.m. segments of the morning show.

The signing comes in the wake of intense interest in Schaefer by both Channel 8 and WKYC (Channel 3) when she became available. She had left WEWS (Channel 5) a year ago for iVillage Live, a nationally distributed show that did not work out.

Hudgens Bows Out. Maybe Jay Leno should stop booking young actresses. According to People magazine online (People.com : The #1 Celebrity Site on the Web), High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens postponed a planned appearance on The Tonight Show Thursday. No reason given, but Hudgens is dealing with fallout from a widely circulated photo of her naked.
As People notes, Lindsay Lohan was a Leno no-show in July following a DUI arrest, prompting Leno to savage Lohan on the air.
