I don't know how I feel about that last scene.
I mean, some people found it shocking that the Derek we know would drink his troubles away like that... I didn't find it shocking, I found it... heartbreaking. (lol I find everything heartbreaking concerning Der) But also sweet because Mer was there with him, it's not like he was getting drunk alone. She was there and when you look at the end of that scene, instead of drinking the glass he poured for her, she put it back down. She didn't wanna get drunk, she wanted to be sober to take care of him.

But it was more heartbreaking yes, that he was that hurt or feeling that bad that he just had the need for a drink.

I dont think it was shocking. I highly doubt he wanted to talk at that moment, so drinking is good!

She was probably gonna drink with him at first. But when she saw him take shot after shot, she decided not to because it would a rough night for him.
