But I would have loved to seen Derek try to make the chief thing and the Mer thing work at the same time.. And it would give Derek another storyline, apart from Mer.

But I did like Derek's reasoning and how he explained it to the chief.

Bang marriage was a mistake with or without IW story IMO. They weren't meant to be and Cristina is a young Ellis. She tried to change for Burke.. She deserves a man who loves her, Cristina Yang and not a fictional Cristina.
