That is an interesting part about Derek... Like in season 1 you think he's the perfect guy, being there for Meredith, challenging her and all of a sudden he has a wife! Big surprise!

I think I understand why he didn't tell Meredith about Addison right away.

But, I'm talking more about his decisions regarding the whole Addison and Meredith situation. Because in S1 he was way more confident and fun, and then in S2 he was completely opposite.

in S1 he was the more fun Derek, I miss that side of Derek in S2, I hope we'll see him back in season 3...

I think Derek might not have told Mer about Addison straight away because Mer would break it off, not wanting to be the mistress or not wanting to make herself fall for him even more. But I do think that Derek should have told her at some level, when he showed her his trailer could have been the right time to tell her, or at least shortly after that...

As for his decisions about Addison and Mer... I never really had expected him to pick Addison, especially for the way he behaved around her and the looks he kept sending Mer's way.. Those were interesting decisions made by Derek

I agree. 'Cause his character is really funny, and I want to see more of that.

Yeah, she definitely would've not went out with him or got involved in anyway romantically. I think him showing her his trailer was a pretty big step for him moving on, in a way. And, I guess he just didn't want to lose that acceptance from Meredith. I think he was going to tell her in the last episode, though... right when Addison showed up.

Yeah, they set it up so Addison was going to leave. But, I don't know. I agree with Derek choosing Addison. I guess he needed to feel like he tried with her and there was nothing left to salvage before going back to Meredith. I just don't agree with how long it took him to finally make a move towards Meredith again.

I do think that he would tell her a bit more about his marriage in that last episode, due to the calls he got from Addison I suppose but perhaps also because Mer opened up to him about her mother and the Alzheimer..

I don't really agree with Derek for choosing Addison but I can respect his decision. Not wanting to let an 11 year old marriage go out just like that, I suppose he wanted to give it a try/fight for it for the last time to see what the results would be.. I think that is a great side of his personality really...

Yeah, because I think him not trying with Addison would have came across as him "giving up." Which, isn't an admirable thing to do.

I also missed that side of Derek in S1.

I don't agree with him choosing Addison but I also respect his decision at first because he does need to try and honour his vows but after the whole season he really does need to end it cause its not fair to either one of them for him to drag it on like this.

I agree... not really a positive thing... Though who knows, maybe if Derek had picked Mer, he might have thought about Addison and giving it another try.. He might have regretted not giving it another shot..

I agree that right now is the time for Derek to end his marriage.. If he didn't end his marriage now (in season 3) I'm really not sure if that will be positive for his character and if the fans of the show will like it.. Though I think the marriage will come to its end... I thought that Addison had a feeling that something happened the minute Mer walked past them and Derek looked away...

I agree it is Derek who needs to end his marriage, and I also agree that it has taken him way too damn long.

I hope that once he is free of that dead weight that has been for him his failed marriage, we get to see some of the old fun Derek

Although I have the feeling that at first, Mer will make him suffer until she decides between him and Finn.

Besides that, I'd like to find out more about his family for example. I'd like to see more of Derek than just his love life.

I don't think if Derek decides to end his marriage that Mer will receive him with open arms... There will be a struggle for Derek to regain her trust, the way to earning back her trust will be an interesting route for him.
Learning more about his family wouldn't be a bad thing at all... They could make it a theme for this year IMO. Because we've got Mer's sisters, Izzie's daugther

I'll always love McDreamy too... Even though he called Mer a whore which I totally disagreed with, I can still like him I can always find a good reason for why a character did that, at least when I like the character. If I don't like a character, I'm not interested in finding a reason behind it
