Well, you are entitled to your opinion, but since this is the Oscar APPRECIATION thread, it's probably not the best place to post your UN-appreciation.

I tried to post it in an alternative thread but the thread was locked.

DwangelaMinion - You are entitled to your opinions on every character and couple on the show but please remember this is an appreciation thread for Oscar and for those that do like him and/or his character.

As I stated on the anti/unappreciation thread you started, we don't allow anti/unappreciation threads on this board, so I hope you will find some threads to post on of characters or couples you do like.

It's fine within reason to discuss why you don't like a particular character's actions, but coming in a thread just to list all the reasons you dislike someone isn't what the thread is for. PM me or my co-mod if you have any questions about this.

Jenn - One of the things I liked best from this season is when Oscar tried to help Michael out in Money. I thought that was really sweet. And he called Jan when Michael took off which was great.

I just listed the reasons why I couldn't appreciate him. Throwing a little bone for others to chew on.

I really liked that too. I know that Oscar always has that "accountant" in him that seems to override anything else, but he totally didn't have to help Michael and he did. I thought that was very sweet of him.

Despite what they may have said at the time, I also thought it was very sweet that Oscar and Gil went to Pam's art show. And I think they inadvertently spurred on her "honesty" phase to help get Jim and Pam together, so I'm actually glad they said what they said and that Pam heard.

I always thought the scene where Angela starts to cry about how certain events transpired, etc. was so sweet IMO. It was when Oscar came back from his "gaycation" (sorry, Kevin stays with me ) and Angela apologizes and Oscar is just stunned. I love that she asked if he wanted to join the party planning committee and he agrees just to make her feel better. I thought it was a sweet gesture.

I Oscar. I think everybody has little bit of him in themselves. He's one of the few in the office that has common sense and he knows it.

I really liked that they went to her show too. I don't think that comment was meant to be mean and as you said it really did end up triggering something in her which was awesome.

That was sweet. I really enjoyed that Angela/Oscar exchange.

True.

He's such a nice guy.

Comedian Oscar Núñez has 9-to-5 fun at 'The Office'
BY LEE HERNÁNDEZ

Oscar Núñez.
Cuban actor Oscar Núñez never wanted an office job — but he got one anyway.

Playing Mexican gay accountant Oscar Mart*nez on NBC’s hit comedy “The Office,” Núñez spends six days a week on a dimly lit set divided in cubicles.

“It never feels like I’m working in an office,” Núñez, 49, says. “It’s all make-believe and the rest of your life reminds you that you’re not in an office, and that you’re on this big television show.”

Starring comedian Steve Carell, “The Office” returned last Thursday — after the writer’s strike hiatus — with five new episodes left in the season.

“Our fans are fanatical about our show, and I think it’s like the ‘Seinfeld’ of its day,” he boasts.

Based on the hit BBC show, the three-year-old mockumentary-style series follows a group of rude, inappropriate and bored office mates.

Núñez’s crabby character has a conflicted relationship with his disliked boss Michael Scott, played by Carell.

“I think he’s amused by [Michael] a little bit. There are moments where he feels sorry for him, and moments where he hates him,” says Núñez.

The new episodes are funny, he says, although he won’t appear on his favorite one.

“The episode takes place outside of the office. It’s going to be a classic episode,” he says. “I wish I was in it.”

Núñez is not complaining, but he hopes his character will take some interesting twists in the future.

“I don’t care what happens with him,” he says, “but I would like something to happen.”

Nuñez is also in “Halfway Home,” a Comedy Central series in which he plays another gay character, Eulogio Pla.

He created and is the executive producer of the two-year-old show about a hapless group of ex-cons living in a halfway home in Los Angeles.

Núñez, who lives in Sherman Oaks, Calif., was born in Cuba and raised since the age of 7 in Union City, N.J., then a vibrant Cuban-American enclave.

“No one locked their door and we had a very close-knit community,” he recalls.

“We’d stay up playing until the lights came up in the streets and our parents called our names to come home.”

In 1986, Núñez began performing with a sketch comedy improv group in New York City. “It was called the Shock of the Funny Theatre Company,” he says.“ We owned a basement in the lower East Side and performing was a lot of fun.”

Not much Oscar but I loved this line about Ryan.

"The real crime I think was the beard."

Thanks Mel for all that stuff above! I'll have to take a better look at it all later.

That lines was great! I love how Oscar says those things with such a straight face.
