The Playlist #1 - Getting in the mood

When you write certain scenes you have to be in the mood for them. So this thread is to make a playlist for all our writers. So if you have to write a happy scene, you can listen to some of the songs listed here. Same goes for action scenes or sad scenes or...

Tell us you favorite songs

11. Love Theme (Metal Gear Solid 4/Super Smash Brothers Brawl Soundtrack)
12. Final Fantasy VI pt.2*
13. Tifa's Theme (Final Fantasy III/VI)
14. Sailor StarS theme Violin Version (Sailor Moon/Vanessa Mae)
15. Requiem for a Dream
16. Eternity (piano version fr. Utada Hikaru)
17. A Song for Violin and Piano (Yuko Ohigashi)

* I had lost the files of the music prior to burning it so therefore, I don't really know the name of said pieces. I do have the music burned on my CD however.

Soundtrack (Not In Order):

1. The Plagues (Prince of Egypt)

Love this thread too!

This is the playlist I have so far for my GG fic. I have two or three more songs to add, plus the other chapters I have to write

1. Memory // Sugarcult
2. Come On // Ben Jelen
3. What's It To You // Clay Walker
4. Love Trip Alone // Dierks Bentley
5. Stand // Rascal Flatts
6. Fall // Clay Walker
7. Breaking Inside // Shinedown

And I still have to add 3 to the chapters that don't have a song

I really find that music is inspirational for my writing. It can really help set a mood or tone

What do people like for fluff and really happy stories?

Kelli- Just curious but do you have a song for every chapter?

For fluffy/happy scenes, I don't have any specific songs in mind but a good start for me would be instrumental music (piano, guitar, flute, etc.)

Here's another playlist I worked on last night. Might change. But this is for the mystery story (still no title yet) that I'm planning on after I write my other story.

The plot (for the curious):
A string of mysterious disappearances have occurred in the heart of New York City, mostly involving young, beautiful women. Two bodies have been discovered so far, with a lot more along the way. Although Detective Brewster had been assigned to the case, he enlists the help of Alyssa Carrington, his intern. While investigating the case, Alyssa encounters someone online that offers to give her an insight to the disappearances and murders in exchange for something more. While working on the case, Alyssa tries to piece another difficult puzzle on discovering who exactly O'Derrick is.

The songs aren't quite in order yet, although at least half of them are quite old in some sense. Easy to find though if you know where to look

Instrumentals:

1. Summer 78 (Yann Tiersen)
2. Worlds Collide (Apocalyptica)
3. The Saint Theme (Orbital)
4. Grace (Apocalyptica)
5. Misconstruction (Apocalyptica)
6. Guilty (Yann Tiersen)
7. Last Hope (Apocalyptica)
8. Fuel (Apocalyptica)
9. From Prison to Hospital (Yann Tiersen)
10. Shadow (WHR Soundtrack)
11. Assasination (Witch Hunter Robin Soundtrack)
12. Flame (WHR Soundtrack)
13. Tactics (WHR Soundtrack)
14. Alley Pain (aka. Slow piano version of “Half Pain”) [WHR Soundtrack]
15. Sneak [WHR Soundtrack]
16. Lost (Orbital)
17. Misc. Gregorian Chants
18. I Saw Daddy Today (Yann Tiersen)
19. Mother’s Journey (Yann Tiersen)
20. Flashback (WHR Soundtrack)
21. Kyrie (WHR Soundtrack)

General:
1. Bye Bye Beautiful (Nightwish)
2. I’m A Slave For You (Britney Spears)
3. Buttons (Pussycat Dolls)
4. Already Gone (Crossfade)
5. Dance With Me (Debelah Morgan)
6. Enough (Disturbed)
7. 10,000 Fists (Disturbed)
8. Façade (Disturbed)
9. The Human Stain (Dark Kamelot)
10. Self Deception (Lacuna Coil)
11. 4 Minutes (Madonna/Justin Timberlake/Timbaland)
12. Ever Dream (Nightwish)
13. Chop Suey (System of a Down)
14. If (Janet Jackson)
15. Starless (Crossfade)
16. Rope Burn (Janet Jackson)
17. Inside the Fire (Disturbed)
18. Little Susie (Michael Jackson)

I think for fluffy and happy scenes the artist Maria Mena is very good. She's a pop singer and most of her songs sound very happy and peppy (the melody at least). There's one I absolutely love it's called You're the Only One. She also makes some songs that aren't so much fun, though, like Your Glasses or He's Hurting Me.

2. Breakdown (Seether) [Link]
3. Empty (Seether) [Link]

I always get inspired by music as well, especially by lyrics or some kind of emotion a song expresses.
