Fan Forum - Hindi Movies

Hindi movies are:

*Pretty much long musicals. They're usually 3 hours longs with songs despersed throughout.

*Love stories, there's usually a love triangle.

*Contain family drama. Death, sickness, marrying someone your parents don't approve.

*Someone gets slapped (This is when I cheer. If I get coerced into watching one of these movie, I'm usually just waiting for the slap). The slap can be a parental figure hitting their kid. A guy hitting a girl. I don't think I even saw a girl hit a guy, but if she did, I would cheer.

*There's fighting between the bad guys and the good guys. The good guys win.

*There's usually a song where the people in love declare their love by singing and running through fields/mountains/beaches not wearing much. No kissing on the mouth (at least this is how is was back in the day. word on the street is they have mouth kissing now. ooh, ****ty). But they guy will kiss the girl on: cheek, forehead, stomach.

*People often go to clubs. So they can watch people sing and dance. This is just a way to add more songs and half naked woman. The woman can be of any nationality since hindi movies are filmed in the US, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and Asia.

*People can fall in love at first sight. If this happens, they will be wed. So for instance a guy sees a girl on the road (shes just walking along, tossing her hair, looking radiant), the guy will declare "I've found the girl I want to marry."

*Contain a character whose purpose is solely to be funny. He's the dumb guy that cracks joke. Does stupid things. Gets yelled at. The comedic relief can also be provided by a woman, but is usually this one guy. Who happens to be my aunts brother. Weird.

*Men are never too manly to cry. This often happens when the woman they love dies. Such as their wife. The rest of the movie will be his kid trying to set up his dad with some woman (who is perfect). I'm making this up, but I'm pretty sure that's how it would work.

*The characters rarely have flaws. Especially if the movie focuses on a man in pursuit of a woman. The woman will have nothing wrong with her.

Take note that this is my interpretation of hindi movies. I am not a fan. This is also a summation of movies I've seen over times. Some hindi movies are serious and even *gasp* contain no songs. I recently saw part of one that had good cops and bad cops and lot of beating up. They don't sing when they beat people up.
