Okay, so I've been writing this Rory/Finn fic off and on for awhile now (their my season 5 UC couple, I think). Would anyone be interested in beta-ing it?

Hey, I'm totaly new to this site, and I wrote a pretty funny fanfic about the Gilmores and Bon Jovi (main pairings are Lorelai/Jon, Rory/Dean/Jess and more).

:wave: Welcome snow5183. I quite enjoyed your story so far. I think you've got some funny and on-character dialogue going there, especially the 'repetitive-redundant-repetitive-redundant' thing, and you got me giggling at Michel's good characterisation. :lol:

However, if you don't mind, I would also like to suggest that you run the story through a spell-checker and perhaps a beta-reader, because there are some obvious spelling errors and that detracts from the appreciation of the good dialogue. (Incidentally, the 'correct' way to spell GG!Lorelai is Lorelai, not Lorely.)

I know this is central to your plot, but I also can't help wondering whether Lane, as a character, would freak out over Bon Jovi coming to town. Given her manic obsession with classic hard rockers/punks, I actually have trouble visualising a Lane that really idolised Bon Jovi because they don't really seem her type.

You might also be interested to know that in conventional script-format writing, the characters' names are written in capitals. So it would go something like this:
LORELAI: You're repetitive.
RORY: And redundant.
I'm less sure about character action (i.e. not dialogue), but I think they are written in italics.

Everything you said was very helpfull and taken into acount. I haven't found anyone to beta-read this story, but I've done some spellcheking and a few modifications, and also added another chapter...
About Lane, it's not that she's over-excited about Bon Jovi as a band, but more about the fact that she's going to play in a *real* rock-band concert, with lots of people watching.

I enjoyed the update. It's cool that you write so fast. I also like how you had links to all the chapters on the homepage now, makes navigation easier.

I really like the changes you made to formatting. It makes it a lot easier to read, in my opinion. Although, when I was saying how character names are in caps, I didn't mean it should be the case in the dialogue as well. It should be something like:
CHRIS: Be nice, Lorelai.
RORY: Ohhh, did you noticed the way Richie was looking at her the entire concert?

And I think Chris's girlfriend/wife is Sherry, not Cherry. ;)

:wave: Welcome freelancerrh! I really enjoyed your story. You write very well, and I thought the bantery dialogue was great. The scene in the end when you described Luke's presence in the house was excellent.

And I absolutely loved that you didn't rush anything in terms of storyline. Things just happened, very naturally, and there were no big tear-filled kissing scenes or 'complete' happily-ever-afters, but there was a big sense of hope and the possibility of things that could happen in the future. It was great.

Silversun, wow! Thanks so much for the feedback. It's some of the kindest I've gotten. I'm glad you liked my open ending. I'm not much for grand gestures and sappy, happy endings - I think it's in reaction to how many of them I've read (and, I admit it, wrote in my self-involved teenage years). So thanks again!

One of them is very funny a bit JavaJunkie but mostly Rory/Jess and one of the Gilmore Girls is pregnant! And the second is very dark, a Literat Road Trip. I wrote it because i love Literati Road Trip Fics and there was no good on german!

Hope someone will read it or maybe just take a look at it.
