Considering Disobedience

Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) go undercover at a mental institution in response to a distress call from Martin Creaser, a former hunter (guest star Jon Gries) who’s a patient there. Creaser thinks supernatural forces may be the real reason behind a large number of patient suicides and is afraid for his own life, but the experience proves to be a very dangerous one for the Winchester brothers as well.

“Sam, Interrupted” was written by Andrew Dabb & Dan Loflin and directed by Jim Conway.

What a great episode! It gave a much needed inside look into Sam and Dean psyche.
I didn´t cared much about the case most of the time and ewwwww that autopsie with the brain was really disgusting!!!
But Deans conversation with the imaging doctorwoman was totally interesting. How he sees himself and his job. His fear of being a failure and the burden he has on his shoulders - of course you crack under these from time to time. So he burries them so deeply - because that is the only way he can keep going.
And then Sam - I just love him in this episode - his anger issues are a real problem. He says that he doesn´t know why he is mad all the time, I think it is because he thinks of himself as a failure, too. First his mother died, then he couldn´t rescue his girlfriend, then his father and at least his brother. And to top it all he starts the apocalypse - accidently of course - but he tried so hard and gave and made everything for the greater good and to prevent Lucifers rising and still it wasn´t enough. So I hope that with him getting that kind of epiphany, he can work on it and overcome his selfhate.
I love the scene with him and the doctor where he apologize and felt truly horrible about it and the look he had on his face when the doctor said to him that he was barely human and possess of something - it was heartbreaking.
And the scene where he told Dean said he loved him with all this drugs in his systems was so sweet.
Back to Dean - I just felt so sorry for him and wanted to hug him when he told the doctorwoman "Good question" when he asked him "how he can get out of bed every morming".
The end scene was really angsty and of course I love it.
Sam had the moment of clarity and had to speak about it, but Dean was having a bad time, too. He wasn´t up for that kind of talk - sure he was a bit rough but he was at the end of his strength and needed to get away. So I understand why he said to Sam that he has to buries these feelings and thoughts - especially while this is the only way Dean can handle it right now. But I know that Sam is not the typ for this and he needs to talk about his feelings. Otherwise it will eat him up on the inside. But I think that he realise that this was not the right time and place and in what a stage Dean was - with him begging. So he at least tries to do it...
Jared and Jensen did an excellent job in this episode with all this heavy stuff in it!!! I hope more of this kind will come. I love to see more of their inner struggle and feelings.

Oh I forgot to mention the older hunter Martin - I kind of liked him. He was cute...

Just finished watching.

And I really liked the episode, some scenes really had me cracking up. Like Dean´s pudding scene.

When the female doc read out Dean´s patient sheet and said all those things like narcisstic, patriotic and so on, I was like - wow, you really hit that.

I loved that we got a closer look into Dean and Sam´s psych. Though I think, that title of this episode should be renamed to "Dean & Sam, Interrupted" as it hasn´t only been Sam, who had gone nuts over the touch of the Raesh.

It was nice to seeing Sam opening up to Dean again at the end, though it was angsty and heartbreaking. But it was nice to see him opening up to his brother again.

Oh, yeah, the acting was as always A W E S O M E !!!
Jensen really played the craziness to perfection!

It was arrite, monster of the week and all, a few hits and misses , did not like Dean all wussy but he saves Sam, thats oldschool now as things has changed so much with the apocalypse which they drill in our heads along with that bitch Ruby constantly mentioned.

Jensen is the king of comedic timing and facial acting.

Jared did Sam's drugged up scene very nicely too.

Awesome returning episode. It was funny. It had a monster. And of course the usual angst but not over the top as it has been so yay. And the mention of Jo & Ellen was a nice touch, I was really expecting the writers to avoid that.
