Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) take a break from their usual gig to star in a gritty reality show called "Ghostfacers" which chronicles the pursuit of the paranormal. Ed Zeddmore (guest star A. J. Buckley) and Harry Spengler (guest star Travis Wester) have created a radically different and sometimes violent show full of profanity that takes them to the Morton Mansion, an abandoned estate which becomes one of the most haunted places in America one night each year.

However, as their team begins to get picked off in grisly manners not fit for television, they realize they are in over their heads.

Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Ben Edlund.

I can't wait for this episode it looks like it's going to be sooooo good.

I wasn't a huge fan of BWP but I love the mockumentary idea. Plus I love anything Ben Edlund writes.

I'm worried I wont like the way it's shot, but I'm sure Ben gave us an amazing script! I Love his episodes.

From the preview clips it looks like it's been shot and cut together really well.

When Jensen said that they gave the actors cameras does that mean Jared and Jensen filmed parts of scenes?

LOVED IT!!

now this is the kind of SPN I LOVE!! Oh how I've missed the pointless episodes, that were just fun and hunting. I'm one of the few but I am getting SO TIRED of the mythology part of the show. I want the feel and structure of S1 back and this episode was perfect for it!! I loved the way it was written and shot, I loved the pointlessness of it all. It was pure cheese and cornyness!!

I've already watched it twice and I'm sure many more times this weekend!

Ben is now officially my fave SPN writer! (sorry Sera.

I went to my sister's and watched it last night! I loved it!

But that's all I'm going to say cause they all came home at 8:45 and I missed the very end. So I'm going to dl it and watch it again after work!

And yes, I noticed and totally loved everytime Jensen looked directly in the camera!

Hehe. I watched it again! And loved it even more.

I loved how you could hear Baby even before you saw her!

And I officially love the way Dean says 'Shut up' and when he yells for Sam!

I loved all those moments to. The only quibble I have with this episode is the leads of the show tuning into guest stars but it just worked so well that even that doesn't seem to bother me so much, which is weird!

think I may be the only one that did not like this episode, the preview was misleading I expected more action esp, with the whole writers strike ordeal, Sam and Dean seem to be secondary characters while the focus was on the Ghostfacers, IDK it just did not do it for me

Jaye don't forget this script was almost all done when the writers strike hit, they were like a day or two away from finishing it all up.

I liked how Dean/Sam were kind of guest stars, I love when we get to see them from another POV instead of their own.

I loved everything about this episode!

I gotta admit I'm having a hard time making up my mind about this. So maybe you're not completely alone, Jaye.

On one hand I totally loved it because it was funny and totally angst free and made me laugh and I like that thing with the hand camera -- always has. And having Dean being sooo Dean was great, too. Not to mention that Sam had some really cute and funny "Sammy faces"

On the other hand, unlike Bee, I'm one of them who has grown to really love the mythology of this show -- although I usually isn't into stuff like that at all -- and a part of me missed that.

And after months of worrying about Dean's death and stuff, I guess I felt a bit cheated, too.... And eventhough I also kind of miss the easiness of season one, this was a bit to silly for me.

But all in all it was a fun eppi, a lot of awesome (and half awesome

) Dean and really how could that be totally bad?
