But like I said in the Dean thread, I think Sam finally got it in the end, when he told John that killing the demon wasn't worth everything, and he shared that look with Dean in the backseat, pretty much said it all. But , Sam can make me more than a little aggravated sometimes, although I get over it soon enough and resort to wanting to squishy hug them both for forever!

I loved Sam for choosing Dean. And considering the flashback we got in Something Wicked, you can pretty much assume that Dean kind of took on the role of a parent as well as brother, especially when you take into account that John was probably always off hunting, leaving his boys behind in motels. So it makes it that much bittersweet that Sam chose Dean over John.

That makes perfect sense. I your fresh insight into these scenes. Oh and I also loved the callback to the pilot episode. It's the little details . . .

It's actually such a perfect line. It makes sense that what happened to his mum had that sort of an effect. Every child has an idea of what they want to be when they get older, and being a firefighter was maybe a way little!Dean thought he could help other families from having to live through what happened to his mum. The fact that he wanted to save people ever since he was little, just makes me him even more. I use that phrase so often, but it's so true.

Are you gonna get to watch the start of season 2 before you go?

Definitely. I think the parent parallels have always been there, especially considering how much Dean has mentioned that he feels responsible for Sam, ever since they were little, and that it's his job to look out for him. Also the whole choice just reinforces how much trust Sam has in his big brother

On a slightly related note, I also loved how that as soon as Sam shot possessed!John, he ran over to Dean to check how he was, despite the fact that his dad was still demonised. Again, the care and love they have for each other = me dead

I'm definitely going to try, dammit! I'm going to see how much I can watch tonight. Get this - my stupid sister, who started watching after me, has already caught up, and PASSED me She's watched the first 5 episodes of S2 She's stupid because I'm jealous I don't have the free time like her to watch it. But I figure if I don't sleep between now and Friday, I might also be able to watch it all. Deadly serious.

The whole Sam choosing Dean over his dad thing was seriously the best thing ever in that episode I mean, he looks at them both, and immediately trusts Dean. I don't think I've ever squeed so hard in my life. That was a great scene. I love the bond between the brothers soooo much!

Dean: You all right, Sammy?
Sam: Yeah, I'm fine.
Gordon: Well, lighten up a little, Sammy.
Sam: He's the only one who gets to call me that.

Ok guys, I watched like the first 5 episodes of season 2 last night/this morning, so this will all be a ramble. But my God, I frucking LOVE this show even more now! I LOVE Sammy and Dean, and how even at the beginning of season 2, they didn't lose their stride at all. They still had classic moments which made me crack up laughing, and angsty moments which made me cry. LOVE!!!!

Argh, I don't know where to start. I guess Sam trying to get Dean to grieve, or open up about his feelings on John's death is as good a place as any I adore how it was an ongoing theme throughout the first few episodes, and how he just wouldn't let the issue go, because he knew Dean keeping in his feelings would kill him. I love that despite all the threads, Dean didn't scare him enough to stop Sam from constantly pushing his brother to be just be straight with him, but also that he knew when to stop. Like when Dean blew up at him in Everybody Loves A Clown for trying to make amends "too little, too late", and how at the end Sam admitted how torn-up he felt about it, but also said "You're not okay. That much I know. I'll leave you to it" I teared up both times like a big baby.

And OMG, when Dean punched Sam in Bloodlust for saying that he was trying to replace their dad with Gordon (who, by the way, ARSE ) THE PAIN!!! Possibly out of all the episodes I watched last night, that one hurt the most, what with Dean basically siding with a stranger over his brother. NO, THAT'S NOT THE WAY WINCHESTERS DO THINGS!!! *shakes him by shoulders* I loved how Sam didn't take him up on the offer to punch Dean back at the end, though - "You look like you just went twelve rounds with a block of cement, Dean. I'll take a raincheck."

And HOLY FRUCKING SHIZZLE The moment in Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things when Dean finally opened up about how he shouldn't be alive, and was responsible for their dad's death THEY CRIED TOGETHER!!!! And omg, when Sam was like "I've already lost Dad, I've lost Jessica, and now I'm losing you" Seriously, it's like these guys enjoy taking my heart out and just stomping all over it. Sadistic so-and-sos (who I flove to pieces).

Also, Sam’s sheer determination that he wasn’t going to let his brother die in In My Time Of Dying EVERYTHING, the way he stood up to John, the way he watched over Dean and spoke to him, saying he wasn’t going to give up on him, but also asking him to come back (sidenote, as always, ), how he sensed him, how he unknowingly said exactly the same thing spirit Dean said, the way they reacted when Dean finally woke up… GUH. Their bond is just…indescribable.
