I mean, come on. John GAVE HIS LIFE for Dean. That's LOVE. Even if he really has had trouble showing it in the past, he loves his son.

Yeah, it was. I mean, I adore emotional scenes much more than funny scenes. It gives more depth to the characters, you know?

I love the funny scenes but I agree the emotional ones are so much better. They are a lot more powerful

Especially since we don't get a lot of emotional scenes either. It's more of the depressive stuff, or the amusing ones

Ya there really hasn't been that many great emotional scenes so I loved that we got some

I have to agree with what you all have to say. I really liked that we get to have a lot more emotional scenes and heart-wrenching too, and somehow the show manages to make all the aspects work

The last scene between these two, really got to me. John telling Dean that he was proud of him, and that he shouldn't have brought him up the way he did. I've always liked the father/son relationship they had as there's something about it that I understand.

I know. I mean, even though you can't related to the wholeness of the father/son relationship, I can totally see some things related to my relatives and such. It makes this relationship realistic, you know?

I'm doing a bump because I'd love to find out what you all think now that we know more about John.

Personally I'm still so torn over this. I understand John more now...but still.

i liked john...but i always felt like he loved sam more (though he didn't mean to) and dean was always trying to buy his affections...i felt bad for dean b/c i myself grew up with a bit of eldest child syndrome...but, when it came down to it, john gave his life - not just his life, his SOUL - for dean...
