Bobby has Dean down for his next-of-kin for emergencies. We see Dean keeping constant vigil over Bobby before the boys are able to wake him from his sleep-coma. Do you think Dean sees Bobby almost as more of a father figure to look up to than John was? Jim Beaver> Well, it’s kind of starting to seem that way to me. I don’t know so clearly what Dean’s relationship with John was in terms of how it’s different from Bobby. But I know that he knows that Bobby isn’t going to give him the same kind of hard time that John did on occasion. And I think he knows that Bobby will be straight with all the time. I don’t know if it’s a father figure or just a great uncle figure. But I do see the relationship getting stronger and stronger, and that’s really fun to play. I’m enjoying that a lot.  __________________

| Moderator Manager | Dean and Bobby had me hooked in AHBL2. I've always liked their interaction but when Bobby asked Dean if he really had that low of opinion about himself. I was done for! Bobby will forever be awesome to me now.  I'd like to think B/D have always been close, that Bobby has always seen the way John treated Dean so in return he had a soft spot for Dean, maybe even spoiling him a bit when he got the chance, and being there for Dean when Sam took off for school ...I can't remember how long it had been since Bobby had seen Dean when S/D showed up on his doorstep the first time...must go rewatch Devils Trap.__________________

| Moderator Manager | Exactly! Dean desperately needs to know somebody loves him and cares about him. He really doesn't believe that anybody does, even Sam. Sam leaving for school and walking away again in scarecrow and the whole shadow mess, left some huge scars on that guy. And John, we wont even go there on how he broke Dean beyond repair, so it's great that Bobby can step in and say hey, you're worth something. (for the record, I'm not saying Sam doesn't love Dean, I'm saying Dean doesn't know that he's the world to Sam) __________________

| Moderator Manager | I think Bobby will have a better chance then Sam, for now. The whole Dean/Sam issues are going to take forever to work through. No matter how often Sam tells Dean he cares for him, I think to Dean he hears it more as a you're my brother and I care for you because I have to, loyality and all that crap.__________________

| Moderator Manager | I love the way he treats Dean, it's not like he's mean to Sam or anything but you can just see some sort of connection between Dean and Bobby that just isn't there with Bobby and Sam. (and it could very well be the Father/Son thing) And I'm so glad because Dean needs that. __________________
