I think the only thing that has ever kept him from even thinking about suicide was he'd be leaving Sam alone. But if Sam had truly died, then I think Dean would just give up.

Yeah he made it clear that Sam is what keeps him going, now his mission is to save Cas, he always considering others first, it's the reason he got that couple to safety when he thought Sam was dead.

Yup, and yet Sam seems fine without Dean.

Me neither Faith, just like I believe whole heartedly that Sam picked up the amulet, nothing the show says and does will ever make be believe anything different.
I just can't see Sam doing anything else, it wouldn't be him otherwise.__________________

The writers really failed in some aspects.
but at least they're trying to get the brothers back on track...only took 6 seasons. __________________

Am I the only one that finds it odd it took Dean this long to commit Suicide? Especially with Sam dying? I really don't see how it hasn't happened sooner. 
Not that I have ever wanted him to, I admire him greatly for finding the strength to wake up each morning with his crappy life, it's one of the reasons I love about him...but I can't see him never thinking about it before.
