Yes, the basic story idea and the characters had the potential for keep the show alive for a few more seasons. Though who knows what would have happened, maybe we would have the Dean we all love then.

Dean is simply the best.
 I can't imagine anybody turning Dean into this lovable tortured character that Jensen did. In lot of other actors' hand he would have come off as a jerk in the beginning. Though I definitely would have opposed more Alec/Ben stories either.  Both of them had such great potentials. |

I agree, I think Dean had every chance to come off as a jerk in the begining, but Jensen gave him so much heart.
Yup I wouldn't have refused more Alec/Ben either.  Alec was a great lead up to Dean. I think they're a lot a like. __________________

Yes and thanks to Jensen both of them had depth and soul.
Both of them likes to hide behind the 'tough guy' persona but under that they have different issues. |

I hope Ban found peace. It's so heartbreaking to think about that he rather died than to go back. How awful it must have been for him there?
