Anita, it's totally the power of Jensen I don't know how loveable Alec would've been if Jensen hadn't played him.

To be blunt about it!

You're right, though. Part of Jensen's talent is playing these layered and complex characters so well, and Alec is no exception. He could easily have played him as a total arrogant prick, but he knew where to draw the line and make him likeable and easy to empaphise with.

I want to see him play a truly evil character, and see how that goes over, if we'd have sympathy for that character or find the reasons why he's so broken to do such evil things. Not once did I think Alec was a bad guy, misguided sure but never bad or a creep.

Bad for real never came to my mind with Alec! I just couldn't see it. And it scares me to think what Jensen playing a real evil character would do to my brain!
