At the beginning of the month we reported that David Ayer was raising finance for his next gritty LA cop drama End of Watch with Jake Gyllenhaal attached as lead. During the LA junket for Source Code Gyllenhaal confirmed to Access Hollywood that he was about to begin work on Ayer’s film.

Little is known about the plot of End of Watch, although if you’ve seen David Ayer movies (Harsh Times, Street Kings) you may have a good idea of its gist already. We do know that it looks at the relationship between two LA cops, which raises the question of who will be Cop 2?

Here's what Jake said:

I’m about to start a movie that’s written by David Ayer who wrote Training Day, he’s directing it too, about two LAPD officers and their relationship and their partnership and the things that go down between the two of them, and it’s (an) extraordinary script and I’m really excited about that.

I always wonder about the running time. I like at least two hours.
