Sometimes I think I'm handling it well, but the whole place is field with tension and people being unhappy. So I think that catches my mood, but it shouldn't.

That is true, if the head of the company created that culture, you would first have to change his/her mindset, and get him/her to buy into the fact that the company needs to change. However, that would take a long time, if the head isn't noticing the problems right now.

It is, I think it happens with a lot of companies and the opportunities to grow get smaller and smaller
