I commend RG.N for the way they've handled it by refusing to post it on the site. The association the tabloids have made of this incident toward Rupert, just adds fuel to the story and makes him appear more heavily involved than he actually is... it just leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. I really hope that this dies down and doesn't hurt Rupert and his family any more than they must be feeling right now.
And with all the promotion of the new movie, I think they want to expose the news even more, it's the most unfortunate thing it could've happened

Darcy, you asked me to edit the post but then you did it yourself? I'm confused.

Also while i do agree that we must respect the young ladies privacy (she is 13), i would just like to say that the *alleged* accused boy is reported to be a close friend to Rupert, therefore they aren't just using his name. While i agree that RUPERT himself has no fault in anything, nobody can deny that it was in his party with one of his best friends, it's also understandable that press links his name to the story.

Sometimes i feel these boards protect too much, while i don't accept what was done i don't think that it's by editing this type if information that people learn. I also know that this board is a PG-13 one but this is a perfect occasion to teach young kids about the dangers of alcohol and sex, such thing cannot be done when many posts are taken down because they are too sensitive.

I hope people don't get the wrong impression about me on this one, but i have been to far too many boards when kids are way to protected againts things that aren't very appropriate for their age and that sometimes does more wrong then good.

Sandrinha, if you want people to know, learn and discuss about these kind of news, you can always post this on the News & Politics board, but I just think this isn't the right place This is a board to talk about Rupert's career as an actor: his movies, his appearances, his interviews, etc. and we, as fans, have to respect his personal life.

Sandi we respect your opinion, but like Darcy said we felt this isn't the right place and we have to respect everyone's privacy in this case. Also if you have any more questions or concerns please PM Darcy or myself.

Now back to Rupert news.

Sandi- I'm very sorry. I had every intention to let you know that I had edited your post myself, and I know this may sound like a flimsy excuse but I simply didn't have time to PM you. Please accept my apologies. Feel free to PM me if you need to discuss it further.

We certainly don't think bad of you, and I understand and agree that this is something which should be discussed and not swept under the rug. Young girls should definitely know about and be aware of this type of incident, but Rupert's board and this thread is really not the right place to do it, despite the fact that this may or may not be Rupert's friend, this whole situation is something which Rupert and his family need to handle privately, and we have to respect that.

On to some Rupert news...

I didn't thank you before for posting the link to that interview scan, Regina, so thank you!

I'll re-post it for those who may have had trouble with loading the link, Rupert gave an interview to The Times which was featured in their "Knowledge" section, and where Rupert talks about music and some of his favorite bands.

Scan is courtesy of RG.N

Weasley Listening / Soundtrack your life
by Pauline McLeod

Rupert Grint reveals his MCing days, pre-Harry Potter.

Scotland 1, Spain 1
I've never really danced. I suppose it can be quite fun and I do like listening to dance music if I'm in the right mood -- the Prodigy and Five Star are pretty good. I came across a band called Salsa Celtica last year and I have never heard anything like them. They are just fantastic. Jeremy Brock, who wrote and directed Driving Lessons, found them playing in a bar when he was in Edinburgh doing a location recce, thought their look was great and put them in a club scene. They're an 11-piece Latin-Celtic fusion band -- a strange combination of salsa and bagpipes, but it really works. Their version of Auld Lang Syne, called El Agua de la Vida, is brilliant.

Young MC
I was 11 years old when I went up for the role of Ron Weasley in Harry Potter. I loved rap then -- not really hardcore, but stuff by Afroman and Eminem. So, my mum and I wrote a rap for the audition and she filmed me doing it. I was dressed up as my drama teacher, who was a woman.

The big blow
I'm not up to Rolph Harris standards and I don't think I can even make what you would call a tune, but I can make quite a nice sound on the didgeridoo. It was a Christmas present. It's enormous and it's quite hard to play because you have to get the breathing right.

Strummer loving
I would love to play the guitar. Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes is about all I can manage, but you can do that with one finger. I also love the Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Arctic Monkeys. Anything to do with a guitar. There are definitely perks to being an actor. I went to a Velvet Revolver gig and met the guitarist, Slash, backstage. He was very nice, but he didn't have much to say. I don't think he was quite there, really. ( )

Car Wars
My dad is a big Queen fan and has lots of those Best of 1980s compilations, and my mum was a huge fan of 1970s punk. I used to listen to a song by Jilter John [Jilted John], which has the chorus: "Gordon is a Moron". I also really like the Ramones, the Sex Pistols and the Clash. I don't usually get much of a choice on long car journeys because I've got loads of little brothers and sisters [three sisters and one brother] and they usually get there first. My eight-year-old sister is going through quite a goth stage at the moment, but it's usually Black Eyed Peas who win out.

Darcy, everything is cool don't worry about it i was just a little confused that's all .

May i sugest that we compile a list of what would be acceptable to post by all members on this board and what not to post, in order that IF something like this happens again myself and others could know how to handle this type of information .

I'm not sure if this has been posted but it's an old interview of Rupert. I won't post it because i'm almost sure someone already has but this is the link:

I think the text of the article was posted in his Driving Lessons thread... I believe... but omitted to be put up here 'cause I don't think we had the scan of the magazine at the time. So thanks for bringing it over for us, Sandi. I'll add it to the first post.

Thanks so much for posting that lovely pic, too! He looks so freakin' adorable! I love it! What a wonderful shot of him!

And I'm so glad everything's cool. And I'll definitely take your suggestion into consideration... it has a lot of merit, we definitely want to avoid any further confusion in future.

Hi Amy!
