When you look at him, you are instantly reminded of the merry ditties about saffron milk-caps, the bright red sunbeams’ reflections on the wall, etc. Rupert Grint is a star of several movies. During the breaks between Harry Potter films, he found time to star in Driving Lessons, Cherrybomb, and in his latest film Wild Target he had the opportunity to work with the brilliant British actor Bill Nighy – and they got on very well! The attempt to arrange a short interview with him left us convinced that this rising star has his day planned down to the last minute, let alone hour – it is that difficult to snatch Rupert from the Deathly Hallows set. But after we told the actor how much fans he had in Russia, our redhead gave away and answered the Kinopark’s questions.

What did you spend your very first fee on?
I bought а second hand game machine Road Runner for 80 pounds.

In Harry Potter books, Harry himself is a hero with a special mission, Hermione is the brain of the gang, and Ron is such a sunny boy, but a bit of a blockhead. Does that bother you?
No, not really. Ron has always been one of my favourite characters in Harry Potter, and I always felt a special bond with him. Besides, he is good friend, and he has a couple of heroic moments in the seventh book.

Do you have anything in common with him?
Yes, we do. We are both redheads as you see, we hate spiders and we have big families.

You mean that you and Ron have the same phobia?
Yeah. I am genuinely afraid of them. I even check my shoes every day in case a spider crawled in there…

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows you and Hermione are finally about to kiss. How do you feel about it? After all, you have gained some experience with Cherrybomb.
No, we haven’t filmed that scene yet. But it’ll be really strange considering that Emma and me, we have grown up together and we are great friends. In Cherrybomb, the kiss I filmed was different in a way, easier. I think it is much easier to kiss someone you don’t know so well.

What is the most striking memory from the Half-Blood Prince set?
It is probably the scene with fire in the Weasleys’ house, when the entire set was burned to the ground.

On the set you spend a lot of time with Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe. Do you spend time together after the filming or you get tired of each other?
Indeed, we always hang out together during the filming. But since we see each other every day all year round, we do not really need to see each other after work.

Which character in Harry Potter you like the most? Beside Ron, of course.
Crabbe and Goyle. They are ideal stooges.

Do you believe in magic?
No, I don’t. Although it would be fun if it really existed!

Tell me about you role in Wild Target.
I play Tony, the assistant of an assassin, who is initially quite unhappy with his work. And then he meets Bill Nighy’s character, and the whole new world opens for him. When Bill’s character ruins task of killing Rose (who is played by Emily Blunt), all three of us settle in his flat and form this strange family.

And did you like Bill Nighy?
It’s just unbelievable to work with him, we always had fun during the filming. Not many people know that Bill is talented rapper and he can easily read any serious text and turn it into rap!

Which director you would like to work with?
Oh, it’s difficult to answer. I guess [Quentin] Tarantino would be cool.

What would you like to be, if not an actor?
I was always interested in art, so I think I would choose something to do with drawing or with making various things. Animation, probably.

What was the most absurd rumour you’ve read about yourself in the press?
Actually I try to not go dwell upon all that rubbish, but once I read that I would play Oompa Loompa in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
