This thread is dedicated to the dynamics and interactions between all of the members of this amazing wizarding family.

Profiles:

Arthur Weasley:

Date of Birth: February 6th. Year is unconfirmed.
Years at Hogwarts: Undetermined
Hogwarts’ House: Gryffindor

He was one of three brothers. He attended in his youth, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This is where he met Molly Prewett and whom he later married by eloping when they were quite young during the first war with Lord Voldemort. He is the patriarch of the Weasley family. He has seven children, six boys and one girl. He is most likely the son of Septimus and Credella (née Black) Weasley. Ironically, this would make him a descendant of the wealthy and aristrocratic Black Family, as it was mentioned he was a cousin of Sirius Black, once-removed. His mother was dishinherited by the Black family for marrying into a poverty-stricken family who are also considered “blood traitors” for allowing members to marry Muggles, or non-magic people. Arthur is described as tall, thin, with a receding hairline and wearing glasses. He also has the trademark Weasley red hair.

He worked for many years in the Ministry of Magic, as head of the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Department but was promoted in 1997 as head of the Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects Department. He has always been fascinated with Muggles and how they are able to live without the benefit of magic. Other than his interest in anything relating to Muggles, he has a collection of tools, batteries and various other objects. This fascination in Muggle culture has often held him in disdain among other wizards and it is believed that is has been detrimental to his career in the Ministry and has consequently contributed to his family’s poverty and having his children use hand-me-downs.

He is an active member of the Order of the Phoenix, a group founded by Albus Dumbledore, which works in trying to defeat Lord Voldemort and doing so without the Ministry of Magic’s knowledge. He, along with his wife Molly, are instrumental in the defiance of the Ministry, and the underhanded activities of the Order of the Phoenix, especially during the Second Wizarding War. He and Molly offer their home, The Burrow, as Order Headquarters when Grimmauld Place becomes unsafe. His entire family are closely watched and as such become prime 'undersirables' when Harry Potter goes missing, after he, Ron and Hermione go off on their "mission". His entire family help set up a clandestine and illegal radio station which sends cryptic and secret messages to wizards at large, or on the run. He, and his entire clan, do battle in the fight at Hogwarts School, but not everyone survives. His son Fred does not make it. He is killed in an explosion.

After the war, Arthur returned to work at the Ministry of Magic.

Molly Prewett Weasley:

Date of Birth: October 30th. Year is unconfirmed.
Years at Hogwarts: Undetermined
Hogwarts’ House: Gryffindor

Molly is from a pure-blood wizarding family, the Prewetts. She had two brothers, Gideon and Fabian, who were unfortunately both killed by followers of Lord Voldemort during the Wizarding World’s first war. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She met and fell in love with fellow Gryffindor student, red haired Arthur Weasley. When the first war was declared, they decided to elope, despite their young age. She is the mother of six boys and one girl; Bill, Charlie, Percy, twins Fred & George, Ron and Ginny. She is a witch housewife and described as short and plump but also an excellent cook.

Apart from her own brood, she has also taken Hermione Granger and Harry Potter, both her son Ron’s best friends under her motherly wing, seeing as they were both raised with Muggles and has made them unofficial members of the Weasley clan.

Arthur’s nickname for her is “Mollywobbles”. She is also an active member of the Order of the Phoenix. During the beginning of the war, Molly and Arthur offer The Burrow as Order headquarters when Grimmauld Place is no longer safe. She tries time and again to dissuade the trio of leaving school and going off on their quest, she is very uncomfortable with their decision. In the end, she had no choice in the matter, as circumstances became out of her control when at Bill and Fleur's wedding, the Ministry completely collapses and Death Eaters attack the wedding party which prompts the trio to leave in a hurry. But the Weasleys are safe, but have to disguise their ghoul as Ron with a seriously contagious illness; however, when the cover is blown, they head for safety at the home of one of their relatives, Aunt Muriel. Molly and her entire family fight in the Battle of Hogwarts. She is of course devastated by Fred's death, and is pushed to the edge when Bellatrix Lestrange almost strikes Ginny with the Death Curse. In great fury, she engages Bellatrix in an intense duel, kills her with a curse that hits Lestrange in the chest.

Bill Weasley:

Date of Birth: November 29th, 1970
Years at Hogwarts: 1982 to 1989
Hogwarts’ House: Gryffindor

Bill is the oldest child of Arthur and Molly Weasley. As his parents before him, he went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he became both a Prefect and Head Boy. When he finished his schooling, he took a job with Gringotts Bank, as a curse breaker, and worked in their Egypt office.

He is described as a tall and very handsome young man. He has long red hair which he normally ties back in a ponytail and he also wears a single fang earring. In 1995, he came back home to attend the Triwizard Tournament, where he met one of the champions, French girl Fleur Delacour. After a year of getting to know her, with her own job at Gringotts and giving her “private” English lessons, he asked her to marry him and she accepted. In 1997, being a member of the Order of the Phoenix, he took part in the battle against the Death Eaters who had infiltrated Hogwarts. Unfortunately, he was savagely attacked in the face by werewolf Fenrir Greyback, in his human form, and was left badly scarred. Luckily, the attack seemed to have caused only a partial lycanthropy contamination. He has developed a taste for very rare steaks.

His wedding to Fleur is going ahead as planned. In fact, Fleur’s insistence on marrying him despite his deeply scarred face, has earned her the respect of many of the disapproving Weasleys, most notably Molly.

Fleur and Bill take part in getting Harry escorted safely from the Dursleys' house, when Harry's protection there ends. They witness Mad-Eye Moody getting killed by Voldemort himself, which they announce upon their return to The Burrow. The couple get married there at the end of summer 1997. Unfortunately, the wedding is violently interrupted by Death Eaters, after the Ministry's collapse. They are both safe, as is the rest of the Weasley family. They both do everything they can during the Second Wizarding War. They later provide safe haven for Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dean Thomas, Luna Lovegood, Mr Ollivander and Griphook in Shell Cottage, a small house near the sea, after they narrowly escape Malfoy Manor. Both Bill and Fleur fight as combatants for the Order of the Phoenix during the second battle at Hogwarts and both survive. Bill and Fleur have three children: Victoire, Dominique and Louis.

Charlie Weasley:

Date of Birth: December 12, 1972
Years at Hogwarts: 1984 to 1991
Hogwarts’ House: Gryffindor

Charlie is the second eldest of the Weasley family. He continued the family tradition by being sorted into Gryffindor House when he was at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He is described as having a broad, good-natured and weather-beaten face. He is one of the shorter and stockier Weasleys.

He finished school one year before his brother Ron and best friend Harry Potter started to attend. He was a Prefect and named Quidditch Captain. He was a legendary Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Although, many thought he could have played for England, Charlie chose to go to Romania instead to work with dragons. He only returned to England in 1994, when he brought four rare dragon specimens for the Triwizard Tournament. His task in the Order of the Phoenix is to help try to rally support abroad. He returns to The Burrow for Bill and Fleur's wedding, as he is best man.

He comes back to later take part in the Battle of Hogwarts at the head of reinforcements gathered from among the friends and families of the people who have stayed at the school to fight, as well as many of the Hogsmeade villagers. He survives the battle, without serious injury. He stayed single and never had children, as he apparently prefers dragons to women.

Percy Ignatius Weasley:

Date of Birth: August 22, 1976
Years at Hogwarts: 1987 to 1994
Hogwarts’ House: Gryffindor

Percy is the third born son. He was a Prefect and a Headboy at Hogwarts and he wrote all his O.W.Ls and got top grades from his N.E.W.Ts. He got into the Ministry of Magic right after graduating from school and worked under Bartemius Crouch senior at the Department for International Cooperation. After the Crouch incident, it was believed that his career would be sunk, but then he got promoted and became a junior assistant to the Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge. Unfortunately, this caused a fight between Percy and Arthur and consequently, he fled home. He wrote an awful letter to Ron and returned his Christmas jumper to Molly. He remained at the Ministry even after the truth came to light.

Percy remained as an employee under the new Minister for Magic Rufus Scrimgeour and visited home on Christmas eve 1996. However, he left after getting food thrown at him. He attended Dumbledore's funeral with other Ministry employees. Percy didn't attend Bill and Fleur's wedding much to Molly's grief and he continued working in the Death Eater-invaded Ministry. However, during the Battle for Hogwarts, he returned by apologizing to his family and by fighting side by side with them. He fought alongside Fred and jokingly resigned from Minister for Magic, Pius Thicknesse (whom he turned into a sea urchin). Fred, overjoyed by Percy's joking, sadly died in an ensuing explosion. He didn't want to leave Fred's body and protected it until it was made safe. After that Percy ran after Rookwood who was believed to have caused the explosion.

Percy survived the battle and years later became a high-ranking official under interim Minister for Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt. He married a woman named Audrey and had two girls named Molly and Lucy.

Fred & George Weasley:

Date of Birth: April 1, 1978
Years at Hogwarts: 1989 to around 1995/96
Hogwarts’ House: Gryffindor

Fred & George are identical twins but it is unclear as to whom is the oldest between the two. They have the trademark flaming Weasley red hair. They're one of the short and stocky Weasleys. They are generally considered as very funny and seem quite popular amongst their fellow Gryffindors. While at Hogwarts, they also played Quidditch and were teammates to Harry Potter on the Gryffindor team. They were excellent Beaters.

Fred & George seem to like to pick on their younger brother Ron the most of all their other siblings. In fact, when Ron was three, he broke Fred’s broom and the latter retaliated by changing Ron’s teddy bear into a spider.

While at Hogwarts, they were known as the school clowns and troublemakers. Although, they usually tend to be more interested in their inventions, tricks and jokes, they get good marks in their studies. They generally work as a team, although Fred sometimes appears to be the dominant twin. In late 1995 and early 1996, they quit Hogwarts when Dolores Umbridge, the new DADA teacher and self-appointed Headmistress, banned them from playing Quidditch.

They opened a joke shop on Diagon Alley, called Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, thanks to Harry as he had given them his Triwizard winnings. Fred and George are members of the Order of the Phoenix and serve as two of Harry's six decoys when he escapes Privet Drive. George loses one of his ears to Snape's Sectumsempra curse. As the injury was caused by dark magic, it cannot be repaired. George remarks that, at the very least, he and his brother became much more distinguishable and their mother will be able to tell them apart now. After the wedding and the raid on it by Death Eaters, the Ministry of Magic, which is now led by Death Eaters, is watching every member of the Weasley family. It is impossible for Fred and George to return to their shop in Diagon Alley to sell their products, so they begin to run another owl-order business out of their Aunt Muriel's house.

During the Battle of Hogwarts in May of 1998, an explosion kills Fred. In the final moments of the battle, George and Lee Jordan defeat the Death Eater Yaxley. Although George is able to move on with his life, he never fully gets over his brother's death. With Ron's help, he manages to turn Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes into a "money spinner". He later marries Angelina Johnson and names his first child, a son, after his dead twin. They also have another child, a girl named Roxanne.

Ronald “Ron” Bilius Weasley:

Date of Birth: March 1, 1980
Years at Hogwarts: 1991 to 1997
Hogwarts’ House: Gryffindor

Ron is the sixth of the seven Weasley children and the youngest son. Ron has the trademark flaming Weasley red hair and blue eyes. He is also described as being tall, thin and gangly, with freckles, a long nose and big hands and feet.

He befriended the famous Harry Potter on their first train journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. All of his older brothers, in one capacity or another, have all excelled while they were at Hogwarts and Ron feels very over-shadowed by their accomplishments and feels very insecure and has a lot to live up to. If what he saw in the Mirror of Erised is any indication, he has a great desire to be noticed in his own right. One talent he has, which outshines that of his brothers, is his incredible ability to play Wizard's Chess. He is unbeatable at the game. In fact, his prowess at Chess enabled Harry to continue in the quest for The Philosopher’s Stone.

He has in fact helped in different ways in all of the adventures (or trouble) he, Harry and Hermione have taken part in.

His relationship with Harry is one of ‘brotherhood’ more than just mere friendship. They each found something in each other that complement the other. In fact, during the Triwizard Tournament, Harry had to get back ‘the one thing he would greatly miss’ and it was later revealed that it was Ron. His relationship with Hermione is a more tense and volatile one. They get into many heated arguments, but it’s their own special way of communicating. It has also become quite obvious to many others that they have deep feelings for one another. Feelings which both were too stubborn to admit. It became quite obvious, specifically during the Triwizard Tournament, when they showed interest in other people and were both jealous, that they have deep yet hidden romantic feelings for each other.

In 1996, Ron was named Prefect and also became a Keeper on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. At first, he was so nervous and insecure in his own abilities that he played miserably. But with Harry tricking him in believing he was playing with a special ‘luck’ potion, played exceptionally well.

During the year, with Prof. Umbridge refusing to show any Defense Skills in her DADA class, Ron along with Hermione and Harry founded ‘Dumbledore’s Army’, a group of fellow Hogwarts students whom Harry taught how to defend against the Dark Arts. In a battle with Death Eaters at the Department of Mysteries in the Ministry of Magic, Ron was cursed and attacked by “brains”, which left deep, red scars on his arms. Thankfully, he made a full recovery.

In 1997, although too young to be a full-fledged member of the Order of the Phoenix, was still able to help the Order in their fight against Lord Voldemort, along with Harry and Hermione. On his 17th birthday, Ron was unfortunately and mistakenly poisoned but thanks to Harry’s quick thinking, was saved in the nick of time. Death Eaters infiltrated the school, with Draco Malfoy’s help (a Slytherin student, and an enemy of Ron and Harry), Ron along with Hermione, his sister Ginny and other Gryffindors and Order members battled the attackers. Sadly, Prof. Dumbledore didn’t survive and it was rumored that Hogwarts would not re-open. However, Hogwarts did re-open and after their pledge to help Harry's hunt for Horcruxes, Ron as well as Hermione, did not return for their seventh year.

As one can imagine, their quest to destroy Voldemort was not an easy one. They had many close calls and brushes with death. They had to go into hiding and secretly search for the Horcruxes. They hid mostly in forests throughout England, in a tent with anti-Death Eater enchantments to protect them. After a harrowing infiltration and escape from the Ministry of Magic, where the Horcruxed Slytherin locket was found in the possession of the foul Dolores Umbridge, all three took turns in wearing the locket. It affected Ron in the worst way, however. Through the evilness laying within it, Ron became moodier and more sullen than usual. In a particularly bad moment, he lashed out at his friends for the lack of amenities and a more concrete plan. And believing Hermione was 'choosing Harry' over him, he suddenly left. It took him several weeks to find his way back to them... all thanks to Dumbledore's Deluminator, which he had inherited.

After barely escaping from Gringott's Bank where they found another Horcrux, the trio made their way back to Hogwarts where the final battle was to take place. Ron and Hermione both fought in the battle and made it through unharmed. Ron with Neville's help, took down the werewolf, Fenrir Greyback.

In the first couple of years after the war, Ron helped George make Weasley's Wizard Wheezes a very lucrative business. Once WWW became so profitable, Ron became an Auror in the new Ministry of Magic and helped revolutionize the whole department, with Harry at his side. Ron and Hermione also married in the ensuing years following the war, and have a daughter, Rose, who is the oldest, and a young son, Hugo.

Ginevra “Ginny” Weasley:

Date of Birth: August 11, 1981
Years at Hogwarts: 1992 to 1998
Hogwarts’ House: Gryffindor

Ginny is the seventh child of the Weasley clan. She is the first girl to be born in the Weasley family in several generations. She is described as being small with vivid red hair and bright brown eyes. She is known as a talented young witch, especially noted for her Bat-Bogey Hex.

It was well-known that she had a huge crush on Ron’s best friend, the famous Harry Potter in her first year at Hogwarts, but she has had many boyfriends during her later years at school. She became a Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. In fact, when Harry was banned from playing by Prof. Umbridge, she helped Gryffindor win the House Cup when she replaced him as Seeker. It is after this event, that Harry and Ginny started dating. They were very happy for a time. She became a member of ‘Dumbledore’s Army’ and also became very good friends with Hermione, such good friends in fact, they became each other’s confidantes.

Unfortunately, after the attack on Hogwarts by Death Eathers and Dumbledore's subsequent demise, Harry fearing for her safety, broke up with her. While Harry, along with Ron and Hermione were off on their Horcrux search, she went back to Hogwarts for her sixth year, and became one of the leaders of a group undermining the authorities at the school because it had become under the control of known Death Eaters, with Severus Snape named as Headmaster. She, along with Neville Longbotton, led a band of defiant students who resisted the autocratic, tyrannical rule implemented at the school. She was severely punished for her actions but never wavered in her convictions. When the battle at Hogwarts started, her parents and family tried to keep her away from the fighting but in the ongoing mayhem and confusion, she got caught up in the fighting. She managed to survive and help the wounded.

Following the war, she joined the Quidditch team, the Holyhead Harpies and after spending a few years as a celebrated player, retired from the team. After her Quidditch career, she became Senior Quidditch correspondent at the Daily Prophet. Along the way, somewhere between the end of the war and her Quidditch career, she married Harry Potter and they had three children, sons James Sirius and Albus Severus, and daughter Lily Luna.

I hope they do OotP well with the Weasley family matters. At least I want them to make the Percy thing clear and good... not like "Yeah Percy left the family" and that's it

I hope it's not handled so cut-and-dry that way either because Percy's more important than that, at least in the books and they shouldn't really minimize his place within the family in the movies 'cause he has a very important role in how he has 'embraced' life at the Ministry and how that affects the rest of his family.

Yeah, Percy might even be important in the final part of the whole saga. Or it's quite obvious that he will have to either make up with his family or do something for them (which could mean dying for someone). Otherwise the whole fight would have been pointless. I just hope he doesn't die.

So, do you think all of the Weasleys will survive the last book?

I'm thinking no. But which one would be more apt to not survive...? I don't know... I kind of get the feeling that Mr. Weasley won't survive the war... or maybe like you mention... Percy, stepping in in order to save one of his family members... although, the thought of any of the Weasleys dying is upsetting to me.

Yeah, one of the Weasleys dying... it's a nightmare. It would be most heartbreaking for me if it's Percy. I had this theory that Arthur might die while saving Percy (or Percy saving Arthur... or Ron). It would show that even if they're fighting each other they still have a connection. Shows that how bad things are they still would die if it can save the others... Or something like that.

But I'd throw the book away if it goes "Percy's dead. He was actually a good guy and now he's dead". I mean... that would be just... unfair.

So, do you think all of the Weasleys will survive the last book?
No, I think it most likely be Arthur,Bill,Charlie or Percy. I can't see one of the twins, Molly, Ron or Ginny dying. But I would love it if they all survived.

I don't want them to die, that's just too sad. Hmm if I had to place my bets, since Bill already suffered, I'd have to say I'd think Percy might go..as might the twins

but I don't want to think about that. I just love them too much.

I think Arthur will most likely face Lucius Malfoy. I think it's quite obvious that the two of them don't like each other and well... it seems like something that could happen. My wish would actually be Percy/Lucius facing off, but that highly unlikely, even if I think Lucius might have got something to do with Percy's promotion (even if I believe that he has the skills for the job, even without others's help).

I'm not sure, maybe Weasley/Lucius thing. And maybe Antonin Dolohov has something do with it... I mean, he killed Molly's brothers.

I see Arthur up against Lucius as well. I see Molly being the one to face Dolohov because of her brothers. As for the Weasley kids... not sure... I'd like to see Ron facing Draco, for some reason...

He's not part of the Weasley family but I think it'd be fitting to have Neville facing Bellatrix.

Do you think Ginny will take part in the battle? Or will her brothers keep her out of it?

Any ideas what we could add to the first post to make it less bare? Family summary? A profile of each family member, maybe? What do you guys think?

Yeah, I think it'd be better than trying to do a 'family history' thing since we don't know very much about the past of each member... only what Jo's briefly mentioned about each of them...

So go ahead and make the one for Percy, it'd be greatly appreciated.
