Happy First Year Anniversary, Rupert Board!!

Welcome to the First Year Anniversary Thread for the Rupert Board!!

Yes! That's right!! The Rupert Board is ONE year old this week!!!

It was a year ago, January 1st, that we finally got the Rupert Grint Board here at FF, so this thread is basically a to everyone who voted to get this board up! He deserved to have his own board and you made it a reality!

I thought it'd be cool to go back over the last year to see how much Rupert has accomplished!

If you remember...

January 11th saw Rupert come in at #4 in Teen Vogue's Most Fashionable Young Celebrities List!

It was reported at the end of January and the beginning of February that Rupert, and the rest of the HP cast,
started work on the film adaptation of Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix, part 5 of J.K. Rowling's written series.

Rupert appeared on February 19th at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTAs),
where he presented, along with Will Moseley, the award for Best Film Editing.

On February 20th, Driving Lessons started the film festival circuit when it screened at the
Jameson Dublin Film Festival, to a very appreciative crowd.

March 7th brought to North America the Goblet of Fire DVD release,
a film in which Rupert's performance was praised and acclaimed by many critics.

March 13th, Rupert, along with Dan, Emma & David Heyman, accepted an honorary
Empire Award for the Harry Potter movie franchise's contribution to cinema.

On April 30th, Rupert showed up at the North American Premiere of Driving Lessons,
when it screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, where it became an instant hit!

On May 17th, Driving Lessons opened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

June 25th, Rupert, along with HP cast mates Emma Watson and Matthew Lewis,
attended in person the Queen’s 80th Birthday Party at the Palace. They had the privilege of sitting in the Royal Box.
They had done a skit, along with Daniel Radcliffe (who was unable to attend),
in honor of the Queen’s Birthday a few weeks before the event, and it
was shown at the party. The event was televised on BBC1.

June 30th, Driving Lessons premiered at the
Moscow International Film Festival, where it won
an amazing 4 awards, including the Film Critics Award for Best Film!

During the summer months he started taking real life driving lessons.

On August 24th Rupert turned 18 years old!!

August 26th, he appeared at the
Edinburgh International Film Festival for the Premiere
of Driving Lessons in Scotland, where the movie
continued to gather enthusiastic audiences.

On September 4th, Rupert attended
Driving Lessons’ London Premiere at the
Curzon Theater in Mayfair.
Several of his HP cast mates came to support him,
including Emma Watson and Bonnie Wright.

On September 8th, Driving Lessons was released in theaters in the U.K..

After a failed first attempt, we learned that he finally got his driver’s license on October 7th!

Then on October 11th, he appeared in person in New York City
for the Sony Pictures Classics Premiere of Driving Lessons.

After spending a little bit of time promoting the movie in NYC, he embarked on
a 10 day press tour which took him to such places as Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles.

The movie was released in limited cities in the United States on October 13th.

On November 10th, Driving Lessons was released in Canada, in both Toronto and Vancouver.

Sometime in mid November he wrapped up work on Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix.

Then on November 27th, Rupert, along with the Phelps brothers, appeared at the
Kids’ BAFTA Awards, where they accepted the
BAFTA Kids Vote Award for Goblet of Fire.

On December 17th, Driving Lessons made its television debut on the British network ITV1.

Then on December 26th, saw the release of Driving Lessons in the U.K..

As you can see it was a pretty busy year for our favorite redhead!!
And with Rupert’s statement during his U.S. press tour in October that he would
like to do another project before the start of filming the 6th instalment of the
Harry Potter film series in May as well as the eventual release of Order of the Phoenix in July…
I think we can expect an even busier and successful year ahead for him!!

One thing’s for sure, Rupert’s star is rising very fast and
he is finally being recognized for the talented and gifted actor he really is!

And it’s just the beginning…

The future looks very bright for one, Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint!

Happy First Year Anniversary, Rupert fans!!

That's fantastic Darcy. Congrats to your board for your first anniversary! What a great idea. The first anniversary for the Dan board went by without notice. Something we should probably have considered.

BTW, I'm going to be contacting you both through PMs very soon to see how we can get both our boards customised this year. If we work together (just as Rupert and Dan have) we can make it happen.
