~*Hermione Jean Granger*~

Brunette, bushy-haired and formerly bucktoothed, Hermione was at first a bossy know-it-all who irritated Ron and Harry tremendously, that is until a shared traumatic experience with a troll. After that, she became an appreciated and vital part of "the trio". Though often referred to as "the brain" of the outfit, she is also "the glue" that holds the three of them together (especially when Ron and Harry fight)

Hermione, an only child, was born to muggle parents who happened to be both dentists, oblivious to the excistence of the wizarding world until the arrival of her letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where she was later sorted into Gryffindor. But her muggle upbringing did not hinder her from being the top of her class, knowing charms above her level, and casting jinxes that even highly trained witches can't counter.

As the best student Hogwarts has seen for many a year, she can be uptight about rules and school work, she often chastised Harry and Ron's constant and often careless rule-breaking. But although she has "loosened up" a great deal in recent years, she has kept a gooin thd head on her shoulders. Now, she doesn't hessitate to "bend" a few rules if she knows it's necessary for a good cause. She has also developed a social conscience. During her fourth year she makes great humanitarian efforts towards house elf liberation.

The years have been kind to her as well. Though often at times dismissed by Ron and Harry as "one of the boys" by her fourth year, she has proven that she is indeed a pretty GIRL, catching the attention of famous international Quidditch superstar, Triwizard champion and hero of the Quidditch World Cup, Viktor Krum, Cormac McLaggen. And her future husband, Ron Weasley who she would have two children with, Rose and Hugo.

* Hermione is the oldest of the trio, as she was 12 when she first came to Hogwarts
* Hermione's last name was originally "Puckle", a word used to describe a goblin/elf-like creature, but J.K. Rowling changed it saying that "it didn't suit her character".
* Hermione’s name was taken from Shakespeare’s "A Winter’s Tale", though J.K. Rowling stated that she bears little relation to that Hermione.
* Hermione is a caricature of a young J.K. Rowling (at roughly age 11)
* Hermione's worst fear (as shown by her boggart) is failure
* Hermione's wand is made of vine wood with a dragon heartstring core. Vine is the wood ascribed to Hermione's birth month (September) on the Celtic Calander. She later had a Walnut, 12¾", dragon heartstring
* Hermione is better than Harry at every subject except Defence Against the Dark Arts and Quidditch.

* Hermione is an only child. J.K. considered giving her a sister, but there "wasn't enough time for it". If a sister had've been included in the story, she would've been a muggle.
* J.K. Rowling also stated that the earliest drafts of Philosopher's Stone had the Potters living on a remote island. Hermione's dad sees an explosion out at sea, sails out and finds their bodies in the ruins of their house.
* Hermione's family were never really focused on because they are an ordinary muggle family and off no real importance to the story.

So, today I finally got to watch HBP. Loved it

Emma was SO FREAKING CHARMING!

So adorable, so natural, so beautiful and cute.

She really impressed me. Don't get me wrong, I've always tought she was great, but I though she was way better in this one, way more subtle, and that was, in my opinion, brilliant for this movie.

Can't wait for DH!
