I'm going to carry on the discussion of Emma's Celebrity status here because I would be going off topic in the news thread. True or false: do you guys think that the media, ie tabloids, are purposley trying to paint a different picture of Emma Watson to the public, OR is Emma doing this to herself, being fully aware of the consequences to her actions.

Hm... I think its a bit of both actually. I think that Emma would like to change your image than what it is right now. Afterall she's getting older and she would like to change her image and the media definitely would like to paint a differnet image of Emma because it makes for news and peopel would buy anything about what is happening to Emma right now.

I agree with Lina. She's not trying to change our image, into a bag one but into a different one than from the one we had of her when she was 11 years old. As for the media purposefully doing it, well I think in a way, yes because it's there job to get candid photo's of celebrities but I'm not sure if their doing it to paint of picture of this girl. A bad or good picture? And if they are, what? That she's a girl who has grown up into a beautiful young lady, and yeah is a teenager who actually is allowed to have fun with her friends. So I don't know, bit of both.

I think Emma is trying to change her image so that we no longer think of her as that cute eleven year old girl. But i also think the tabloids are playing on it and are purposely trying to make her look bad. The Sun newspaper in particular has a rep for making celebrities look as bad as possible. So i think it's more the media than Emma herself.

Although I don't think Emma intentionally does it, I think it's more of her own growing up process.We're just more aware of that fact because she's famous. And yes I think the tabloids do overexaggerate things to make her appear more of a "bad ass" than what she is. Having a single drink does not make someone a raging alcoholic.

I'm not going to be worried until I read about her crashing her car into a bush or something while under the influence (God forbid). THEN we'll have problems.

Exactly, she's acting a bunch of my friends do. They occisionally drink but they aren't alcoholics.

I definitely agree that they should just leave her alone and let her do the stuff that most teenagers get to do.
