For me they took the character of House beyond repair or redemption with his actions in the S7 finale, I find it so hard to root for him now, as sad as all this is. He went from a twisted jerk you could root for nonetheless to a total nutcase with what he did. It doesn't matter how many times DS brings out the "But he didn't MEAN to harm anyone" defence, that does not and will never make it okay. The whole sorry mess just disgusted me and made it way too easy for me to say I wasn't going to watch S8.

I felt that way during the first half of S8 and I am still pretty furious with what happened. Not for a minute do I believe DS's words about that but I will be honest and think that they are trying to redeem House and it's working for me at least a little. I love the show a lot and I kind of feel that I need to just try and enjoy what's left. I've put most of my energies into enjoying the House/Wilson stuff and that's been pretty rewarding though utterly depressing

I do wish however we'd actually seen House acknowledge what he did was despicable because I don't think that has ever come across in this latest season.

I can't believe they haven't done that, it's like they're trying to brush it all under the carpet like it never happened. Which is what they're basically doing with anything Cuddy related it seems.

The House I loved was a rude, cruel, twisted jerk a lot of the time. He pulled off crazy stunts that endangered his own life a lot more than once. But NEVER would the House I found myself rooting for all those years pull a crazy stunt to willingly endanger the lives of others, that crossed a line for me from which they can never come back from. And that makes me very sad.

I think it’s stupid that he has to go back to jail for that silly ticket prank and not because he nearly strangled a patient. That’s a better reason and not so illogical. Well…..

But I have to say, it was a great moment, when House got sense knocked into him.

So it's Hugh's swansong as Dr Gregory House tonight!

I'm fairly sure he'll be amazing as usual. Got to thank Hugh for 8 years of fantastic acting. Without HL as House, I find it hard to imagine House would have been the success it is today.

^ I agree with the above. Thank you Hugh for an amazing ride. It's been one hell of a journey. Hard to believe that we'll truly never see him as Dr House again.

I can't believe it either. I will miss seeing Hugh portraying House and I am sure Hugh will miss Greg House too. He did such a great job, and it's a shame people *cough*Emmy Awards*cough* don't recognize his effort and his amazing acting.
