I have been guilty of that as well. LOL. It's been quite a while since I have, but I remember reading Wednesday Dates and sobbing. OMG. That is one of the classics. Normally though I do prefer happy Potter family fics.

Yeah, a big problem with fanfic is that they can make it too mushy or too angsty and I like a good balance of the two.

I cried when I read Wednesday Dates too Also, this other fic about Ginny during CoS and her brother's thoughts in that time. Gets me everytime.

Rose - have you ever read The First Day by little0bird. It's a WIP but it starts after the battle and it's pretty good IMO.

OK, I need to find this fic. I don't think I've read it before. Is it happy ending though?

Some writers are just so clever with their words that they really tug at your heart string, especially when it is about Ginny having to conceal her feelings from Harry and things like that.

But yeah, happy Potter family fics are my favourite.

Ummm...it's a very sweet fic but the entire basis of it is kind of sad. That's all I'm gonna say so as not to spoil anything, But it's a very old fic though jsyk.

Here you go: Wednesday Dates by belladonna_tb

Thanks for the Fic link. I haven't read it.

Ultiamtely the angst I don't like when it comes to H/G is that when break up. I just can't ever see that happening. Call me crazy but once the war was over the bond was sealed and they back together as a couple within hours.

^ Me too, Amy. It just doesn't make sense for their feelings to suddenly stop just like that. I'm fine with the not-getting-together right away kind of story but the feelings are there as strong as ever, and it then centrals on how they get back together. It kills me when they just fall out of it because it doesn't make sense at all!

Thanks for the link, Sanum. *sniff sniff* It's so touching! I cried.

Where would Harry and Ginny go on their honeymoon? The whole world is their oyster so it can be anywhere? Are they homebodies or are they world travelers?

I think they're a mixture of both: homebodies and world travelers. It's in their characters to love adventure while at the same time have a strong pull towards home and family.

For their honeymoon, I do love to think they like to go to a couple of interesting places while at the same time maintaining their privacy as a newlyweds couple and not acting as if they are on a tour trip. Somewhere with beaches, historical cities to explore would be perfect for them, I think.

I agree with Emmie that they would be a mixture of both as homebodies and travelers.

Bit late to the party here, doing NaNoWriMo and kind of ignoring all other places mostly. But I just had to comment on this:

Lol, I feel the same way, though I do like exploring the angst (though usually in stories that are set during the war or maybe just after when things are still depressing for them). I did have one commenter on my post-war WIP say they wanted to see some rogue DEs come and attack and I was like why? They have enough things to deal with getting on with their grief and their lives, why do they have to have extra crap thrown at them?

I like writing my fluffy one shots, they make me happy

Allie has her own avie now.

Yeah, I love my fluffy H/G, as long as it's sweet and cute and not overly mushy. I cringe sometimes whenever I read too mushy H/G coz that's not who they are really. Coz what makes H/G works for me is how realistic their relationship is and how they behave towards one another. They're so comfortable with each other that you can sense the intimacy and affection but not being overly clingy.

The best fics are those that also get their cheeky flirting even as a married couple. The way they tease each other is so adorable. It's never mushy, just comfortable.
