Glad you guys enjoy it. I love stmargarets H/G fics. Especially when she takes something so simple or something so everyday crisis like this one and turns it into something so cute and sweet for our favourite pair.

I usually prefer a fluffy, cheerful H/G fics instead of dark, angsty one. I like my H/G all happy and cute.

IKR? The oddest pair ever if I see one. Who would have thought though?

I'm the same way. Harry and Ginny makes me happy so why would I want to read about angsty problems. I can get that in my other fandoms right now. H/G is my happy pill.

^ Yeah, me too.

I feel like I've become really protective of Harry & Ginny that I just want to see them happy and not get hurt. And that's why most of the time I can't stand fanfics that have Harry & Ginny act so out of characters.

Yeah like angst needs to be created to make them more interesting. They're a boat load of interesting enough you don't need to take them so far beyond unrecognizable to be a good read.

Agree.

I mean, I'm fine with angst as long as it makes sense but sometimes I feel that it is totally unreasonable and their characteristics are changed to suit the angst. It's like the easiest way to make the story works is you change the characters personality. It truly kills the story.

I don't know if since it's called 'fanfic', writers are allowed to bend the story and the characters the way they like. In a way, I think it is allowed. But to me personally, since it's a fanfic based on something, the least you could do is to retain the characteristics of the characters or you might as well write a completely different story and not calling it HP or H/G fanfics.

At the same time, I can't stand too mushy H/G fics either. Especially those that keep saying how beautiful Ginny is in Harry's eyes. Like her physical appearance is what attracted him the most and the one that makes he realizes he likes her. That is so degrading to me in terms of their relationship and personality.

I feel bad complaining about this since I don't write H/G fic and even if I do, I won't be brave enough to let others read. I don't know why I'm ranting this much. Sorry.

So, H/G is awesome. 'Enuff said.

Mushy fics can kill it too, agreed. They can sometimes go too far the other way. And besides Harry and Ginny aren't a mushy gooey couple.

The best fics out there right now are those of the Potter family. It's such an interesting dynamic being given a taste and yet there's so much left unknown that that fic writers have a much easier time exploring their relationship. I think that's the best gift Jo gave us as fans.

Jo is a genius. No doubt about it. There are things that she put a finale on it but there are stuff that she leaves out for fans to explore.

I get what you mean and that does turn me off of fanfics at times.

I don't really like overly mushy fic or angst-filled fics either. I like a healthy balance. After all, H/G had both angst and happiness in canon. No reason why they wouldn't have both after the battle ended. Fred's death could cause angst, James's birth could cause happiness, worry over Harry being away on an Auror mission could cause angst, Ginny being placed on the Harpies could cause happiness.

There's lots of great realistic scenarios that work for the Potters post-DH. It's awesome.

I think there are lots of great H/G fanfics authors out there that have done great jobs at continuing and exploring the possibilities in their stories. I'm glad we have these people. I'm not ashamed to admit that some great H/G fanfics even caused me to cry sometimes while some make me really giddy to know the rest of the stories.

I've totally cried during fanfic too! Don't worry.

I'd really love an excellent novel length H/G fic that starts right after the final battle ends.
