A message from Dan's publicist about Fans attending Equus.

"Dan greatly appreciates the support his fans have shown him in the lead up to Equus and indeed all of his projects. And he's particularly delighted that so many have booked tickets to see the play. But, one thing that is worrying him is that so many have written expressing a desire to come backstage after the performance. The demands of playing this complex character, however, mean that this is just not going to be possible as he is on stage for eight performances a week for over four months. So, he really wants to implore fans not to think of the play as an opportunity to come backstage, as he would hate for them to be disappointed, but to come and see this amazing play and to enjoy the experience."

It is. But It's a little concerning that some fans hoped that going to a theatre performance and thought they'd get to meet him just because they bought a ticket. Clearly they don't go to much theatre.

They definitely will. No doubt about that. I really hope they want to see the play mainly and best to think that even though its doubtful that meeting Dan is just an added bonus.

It's going to be so draining for him night after night with the performances alone. Add meet and greets in there and that's just too much. They have to respect that.

I hope they don't push for it though. And I hope they understand how terrible he'll feel when he simply can't fufill their requests on demand.

Yeah it would. He's in the middle of rehearsals right now. I wonder how it's going?

I would love to be able to see it. I bet the rehearsals are going good. I bet he is really nervous.
