I don't know. Maybe so that one person doesn't dominate year after year. I've always believed every award show should be that way. You can be nominated over and over but win only once.

Hmmm sounds fair. And it definitely prevents people from winning for a less worthy role - like the way people get make-up Oscars.

But then after they win, then have an even better more worthy award worthy performance, that might suck.

This is almost like a lifetime performance award. So in that case, Dan won't get this for a long while. He needs to build up his repertoire.

Make that 55. 95 and I'll likely never see it happen since I'll be either dead or almost dead to care about it.

Cripple also got a Drama Desk nomination too. The cast should be so pleased. I'm trying to remember, did the West End give them any nominations?

Maybe one nomination for the play but Dan didn't get anything. New York sure does love him more.

I thought Dan was nominated for that same award that Rupert got, but the whole cast didn't get anything in London?

That was an audience award though. Not a critics one. But yes that's right he did get Best Actor for that one.

Well they're not better but you can't put those on your resume. It's a popularity award. It only means your fans are more active on the web where you have to vote. It's not about the quality of work.

I'm not. He's only 24. He's a megastar which Tonys have prejudices about and the show only has a short run. They want to award plays and actors who don't have a close date set. It is a business after all.

He'll get a nomination one day. No doubt about that. But it will be for a completely new show. And it will be when they think he's worked enough to get it.
