Will: Look, I want you to know that if you are... that I'm going...
Sam: Look, unless you want your best friend walking in on this conversation, I suggest we end it. Now.

Sam: Hey, Will.
Will: Hey, Sam.
Sam: How are you? Is everything-
Will: It will be.
Sam: Good.
Will: You're here to see Craig, so..
Sam: Yeah. He wants to plan some trip to look for comets. Ever since Hailey's, he's been obsessed with comets, so...
Will: You told him it's not coming back, right? For another 76 years?
Sam: Yeah. He doesn't believe it. You know how Craig is. We're not looking hard enough!
Will: And you, I wanted to call you, but I...
Sam: All clear. False alarm.
Will: Good, that's...
Sam: Good. Yeah, I mean, let's face it, not exactly perfect timing to get knocked up.
Will: And by the landscaper's boy no less.
Sam: Hey, don't...
Will: Still, I bet it would have been a beautiful kid. Your brains, your eyes...my something.
Will walks off.
Sam: Will? About you and me? It wasn't all bad...it was just-
Will: Not exactly perfect timing.
Sam: Yeah.
Will: And, uh, you might be right. If Hailey's Comet's going to come back early for anyone, I think it'd be for you.
(Sam smiles)

Will is working on the roof, Sam approaches.
Sam: I know why you did it.
Will: It's nice to see you too.
Sam: Because of the pregnancy. Because I told you about the test. That's no reason, Will. You should tell the judge, tell what really happened.
Will: Can't. I'd be worse off with the perjury.
Sam: That's why you did it, right? You felt guilty so you just... what?
Will: Do you really want to know?
Sam: Yeah.
Will: Fine. Yes, I felt guilty. Dammit, Craig is like my brother and I pay him with sleeping with his girlfriend?
Sam: We were broken up... technically.
Will: And even worse, he was heart broken. I knew how he felt about you. He couldn't shut up about it for two minutes. But did it stop me? No. I just couldn't feel bad about that anymore. And now, you know what, I don't. It's crazy maybe, but now I can love you without an ounce of guilt. And now when I convince you to love me too, and that day will come, I won't feel a bit of guilt about that either.
Sam: Will, I have to tell you something...I'm, um...(pauses) I think Craig's really lucky to have a friend like you. (tears) I should go.
